I’m full AKz here. I got the same questions since most folks say we’re are cursed and greedy by dint of our birth.
Argument is they are an inner european group of converts. DNA analysis of mitochondria says middle eastern

The Ashkenazi from an historical standpoint originated in the area of modern day Caucus Mountains but were likely a mixed group of Turkic Nomads,Persians,Rus,Arabians,Israelis and even slavic groups. Could have been anything as they took prisoners from conquered lands.
