I don't have a emerald card, never have, but my stimulus is going to an account I do not recognize. One that was not on my 2018 or 2019 returns. Can you help verify what is happening?

Checked my status for my stimulus today. It was deposited into a account number I've never seen before. So I copied and pasted it in web search and it shows H&R block. I do not have a emerald card. So how will I get my money?

Anyone who used a tax service like TurboTax Etc is where all those “ deposited in wrong accounts” are coming from. It’s sending the payments to those 3rd party banks who in turn are sending it to peoples actual accounts. That’s some of them. Reports I read say that Taxslayer and Jackson Hewitt people are gonna wind up with paper checks because they “closed” the accounts they used for tax season. Your money would deposit there, they’d take the fees, then it was deposited to you. Since they closed some of those accounts anyone who is caught in that mess has to wait for their payment to be rejected and kicked back to the IRS who will eventually maybe send a paper check.

Covid 19 is a smorgasbord for these creeps....

Mine appeared in my bank account Sunday. It's almost spent.

SO they accidentally sent them where they send last year's tax refunds if prepared by others. Sounds like they are trying to make a dime on the money by another movement.

I just checked online at irs.gov and it said that my stimulus check is scheduled to be mailed on January 6. The 1st one back in April was deposited directly into my checking account! I guess I should be relieved since there have been a lot of problems with the payments being deposited into wrong accounts.

I wonder what happened to the system that it got so screwed up. Could it be related to the security breach being blamed on Russia? Not sure if irs.gov was impacted by that breach.

I was thinking that. Nobody in GA will be voting tomorrow thinking its in some stranger's account.

Yea, this too. How many people planned on it since it showed pending for so many.

I didn't think I was going to get one, and I certainly don't need one, but it showed up yesterday. Far less than $600. I'll probably donate it.
