Stimulus checks error? delayed?

Lots of banks sitting on the money.
Take a large bank for example - if 6 million people in that bank qualify for $600 dollars direct deposit, then if the bank sits on that amount of money for 5 business days, then they can make a cool couple of million dollars in interest....

Last time they did them in blocks with the lowest income first, next lowest income second, etc. as far as I remember? Highest income last (from previous year tax return).

I have USPS informed delivery. On Saturday it said it was at my Post Office Box. Today I rode over and opened my mail box to find not only mine, but another persons check was in my box. I went to the window and gave it to the clerk. I usually don't go to the PO, but once a week on a Friday, but since Friday was the Holiday, I went today. Good thing I did, or those folks would have waited another week for theirs.

A neighbor went with me, as we were stopping at a local deli and he checked his balance at the ATM and his was direct deposited.

I don't know why they don't direct deposit mine. I file a tax return, as well as receiving SS benefits and VA disability.

I will probably just donate most of it as I did the last check.

I haven't recieved my payment yet and the IRS website says there was an error using the same card my first was deposited on.
As a single mom who recieves no child support, I was beginning to panic.

My bank showed pending $600.00 on 1-2-21.

Ours came DEC 30th. I wasn’t even aware it had passed, just kept seeing different things on the news.
Saw someone on here say something, then reminded myself to do the random every other day or so online banking check in.
There it was sitting !!

I work for a company that does lots of tax returns and I had to call the IRS today for other reasons and got a friendly rep so I ask him about what was going on with some of the checks.

Lots of people that used HR Block, Liberty Tax and other places that got a refund anticipation loan will not get their til they file their taxes this year.
The IRS sent the money to the bank that they use Republic Bank. The bank rejected the payments rather than forward the money like they did the 1st stimulus check.

Apparently they said that if they could not charge the people a "convenience" fee for handling the money they decided to just reject the payments outright.

Any checks that were rejected in the 1st batch will have no option but to get the extra money when they file their taxes.

This error has been fixed but as of right now they will not do anything about the ones rejected over the weekend.

Our family got ours. Was pending for about 5 days and had deposit date of 1/4 but deposited yesterday.

Got mine today. Bought a Hi Point with it. Gonna stick the remaining $570 in the savings account.

I got mine. My daughter got hers too but she got way more than what she was supposed to for a child and 1 parent. Not sure why that was, but it will be a big mess for her to fix for sure. They would certainly catch up with her at some point, no sense trying to screw the government.

It is all a numbers game, the government will intentionally screw it up in the hope you fill out a rebate instead.

Funny thing is 85% of rebates go ignored, it is why they are offered for everything.
