I am an example of typical government bureaucracy.

In a previous thread, I posted a ranting reply about how the IRS denied me my EIP (Covid-19 stimulus payments).

I just received the new $600 stimulus money in my IRS defined "Get my payment" bank account.

However, I have yet to receive the $1,200 + $500 dependent EIP payment from the IRS. I have contacted (God forgive me) Speaker of the House, "Nancy Pelosi" office to assist me in the past. While I live overseas in the Philippines, my last known US address (PO Box) is within her district, is used to maintain my US presence due to legal (banking, etc) matters. Many expats can attest to this issue.

Regardless, as a US citizen, I filed with the IRS my current status. As a result, myself and my US citizen son (dependent) were denied the EIP 2020 stimulus payment because I correctly filed my 2019 IRS 1040 tax form as "Married Filing Jointly". Because my spouse is a foreign national (Filipina) and even has a IRS Tax ID Number (TIN), I was told it automatically disqualified my under their criteria. Instead, I was deferred to "reapply" under my 2020 IRS tax return (even though I only receive SSA income) and that "I might receive my EIP 2020 benefits.

So, in summary: I receive the $600 stimulus payment for myself, yet still denied the $1,200 + $500 (dependent) payment for my US citizen son.

How fucked up does that tell you our government is currently?
