OMG ... people may actually have to use a REAL paper map?

and know the difference between East and West and maybe even North and South?

Milennials and many others brains WILL EXPLODE if they have to use a paper map!!

Get yourself a Rand McNally Road Atlas from Wal-Mart for about $8. Has every state's highways and most big city downtowns in it. You will find it in the AUTO section of Walmart ... NOT the magazine/book section of the store.

If one belongs to AAA one can also get state and local maps from there FOR FREE (they charge of a Rand McNally map book - more than 2x what the same thing costs at Wal Mart).

The Metro is a good way to get around in downtown DC, particularly if you are staying "out" since then you don't have to worry about parking, which can be a nightmare even when streets aren't shut down ... BUT BEWARE!! If things get violent they may shut the Metro down and then you could be stuck being 10 to even 20 miles from your hotel!

I know my entire town of portalnd (which is a very confusing town) and many various suburbs ive lived in worked in

I havent wante dto pay to keep a car for awhile but i used to drive and then I was homeless in various areas too

I would take little notes on a piece of paper before i would go on any trips

I used gps once when it was new and it dumped me in the middle of nowhere so I never used it again
