Pence speech hypocritical?

“Violence never wins.”

I am not at all advocating violence. I am curious about the Pence speech, when he says “violence never wins”. My question is, why are we the biggest strongest military in the world if violence doesn’t win? look at the wars that we have had overseas for our own personal interests.
