People had to ask for, demand, steal, or even beg for miracles before he would perform them. He didn't offer suggestions, like that he could heal from a distance, rather than laying on of hands. The Roman soldier challenged him, and Jesus responded with a miracle, praising his faith.

God wants to see people working on justice and righteousness and looking vigilantly for ideas and inspiration along the way.
