One occurred in Pakistan hours ago too. Same thing, frequency drop they called it. Pakistan was not so lucky however and they are reportedly in the dark as a result.

Can't be a coincidence. Two countries far away with these "frequency drops"?

Good question , I have never heard of a frequency drop before.

What causes frequency to drop?
Following the loss of generation, the frequency falls, due to the imbalance in generation and demand, and the voltage falls due to a reduced number of circuits out of the area. At the same time the amount of power out of the area also reduces and the rate of change of frequency is high.

Why does frequency drop when demand increases?
The frequency will remain the same so long as the electricity demand remains the same and the torque from the generator is equal to the torque from the electricity demand. If the demand increases then the frequency will start to drop unless more fuel is burnt to increase the torque of the generator.

recovey of the systems took somewhat 4 hours. I was part of the recovery.
Someting struck network switches while failover redundancy of systems failed...rootcause it yet to be investigated but given this information and the time of the event it is a taste of more to come...imagine if that happens to the banks...

the only source of stable power is nuclear...no way around it for western industries...you cant have it both ways...

Just told my wife to prepare just in case, since I’m at work.

I believe when Trump sends out his PSA through EAS, then that’s when the ball will roll, destroy power grid to destroy information coming in, that includes cell phone.

Another problem is that nuclear isn't flexible and can't be used to stabilize the grid destabilized by renewables. Only gas and coal are flexible enough. Anyway, that's what happens when ideology defeats reason, now we'll get a new dark age, literally... Anyway, ice age is coming, there's no stopping the cycle.
