Being viewed with contempt by someone willing to use violence and confident they can do it without any cost to themselves doesn't result in 'sadness.' It results in hate. Whether that hate is from an abused child or an abused adult doesn't seem to make any difference, here or elsewhere. Lying that anyone actually cares about it only makes matters worse.
