Prosecutors in Russia have launched a probe into a circus performance featuring a monkey in Nazi uniform and a goats parading in swastikas.

The bizarre show was commissioned by the Russian Orthodox Church and has been captured on video.

The performance, watched by children, showed the animals being controlled by trainers dressed in Soviet uniforms.
