* live in housing co-op, effectively rent-controlled, so this helps a lot; otherwise would have to get place for ~$700 plus storage locker $50

** very low b/c I now get most of my food free from aldi dumpsters. before that, it was about $200/month, but that was because I was not really being careful. With care, $150/month is enough, maybe $125.

*** drive a 2005 beater. need to spend $300-600 every now and then for a repair. don't drive much. very little gas needed. Will have to replace the beater eventually, so maybe should be saving $50-75/month toward that.

**** I take very good care of my health, plus have lots of knowledge about how to treat things myself; don't need doctors. Walk 5 miles/day, train with weights, eat good food, take supps = no need for doctors, pretty much.

I don't think the purpose of UBI is to live off of it, but for it to supplement your income.

I could write pages regarding such a plan, and how in theory it is fantastic, feasible, and just.

Unfortunately, here in the real world it would not solve any problems on a large scale. For it to work you need a righteous people, and a righteous government.

As it stands, this would enable the masses to feed their sloth, gluttony, and greed while TPTB would use it to further exert their power and control into it's citizens lives.

In the long run it will create more problems than it solves.
