I get through each day with one old mantra..."There's nothing to fear except fear itself".

Everywhere I went for many years I would find people telling me their problems. At parties, at the bus stop, on the train, etc. After many years of working at a call centre coordinating Tradespeople and talking to hundreds of people every week I decided to volunteer at a Suicide Helpline.

I spent almost 6 months training and then spent nearly 3 years volunteering for Free every week.

I spoke to people who were on the brink of suicide and who had been through trauma and trials and tribulations. I stayed on the line with them until they felt they could step away from the phone and live another day.

It was the most rewarding thing I have done and it changed me as a person and a human being. I know in my heart that my efforts saved lives and helped others.
