Re: meteorite ? Fake ? Calling Astro /// Resolved
The comet is 2.4L x 2.1w x 1.1 thick, miles that is. I wonder, what size are the broken off fragments? Its path is pretty far from earth so in order for something to hit earth we would have to pass through the comets tail where the fragments are embedded.

So, comet hitting is no but passing through tail maybe? Proper doom I say =).

Re: meteorite ? Fake ? Calling Astro /// Resolved
I ran into a thread in a well known video game forum, its about 'a meteorite'?

"US scientists found meteorite expected to collide with Earth within 3 weeks

The meteorite fragments are embedded in the asteroid "67P", according to a study. Their arrival on Earth is expected to occur during a space rock collision within the next three weeks.

Space rock fragments, which are 3.4 to 5.2 billion years old, are expected to collide with Earth within the next three weeks, according to a study from the University of Arizona.

In January 2018, the panoramic telescope and the rapid response system (Pan-STARRS-1) detected a meteorite fragment

""

So I would have liked to know if its could be true,
but there is nothing specific
no object size
no time
no impact region
no source link
when I search "67P" I fall on the comet ...

here is the original thread : [link to www.jeuxvideo.com (secure)]

sorry , my english is light

I hope my translated english is correct
I'm from France
 Quoting: Cale-Tucker

Close, you meant to say an 'asteroid'-, when it hits the Earth's atmosphere with an imminent trajectory for impact it becomes a 'meteor'- then, once it hits the Earth whatever matter remains on the ground is then called a 'meteorite'.

If it is still in space, it is called an 'asteroid'.

Cheers-
