My workout is tailored to me. Plus I go for 3 to 4 hours. Most are not gonna keep up with me. So by working out with them, I'm actually am having to play down to their level. I never understood why people need partners to motivate them to workout. If you can't motivate yourself, you're in trouble. Quoting: Workout Dude How should I tell them that I workout for hours and if they can't keep up with me, it does me no good? Is that rude? It really annoys me how friends who have never worked out actually ask me if they can join in. if hes never worked out maybe hes interested in learning the ropes and youre just a shitty friend |

In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism." -Major General Smedley D. Butler, USMC - 1933 Pronouns: Sir/General/That Bastard |

Seems like you found somewhere that 'feels' mentor-ish to you, even though your ideology isn't quite suited. Just my thought, feel free to ignore it. You feel more than you think. Those two things are supposed to be tied together in some sort of balance. Stop feeling like you have to limit yourself to the other's performance. Perhaps you could give up the OCD rigour of just one session, to show your friend the ropes? That would be considered unselfish. Think about, that person's just starting out - and hasn't got the habit yet. You started there too. That person was motivated to ask you, probably because they respected your experience. Do it, or you'll end up with no friends. |

They are asking to work out with you not the other way around. They probably want top see if they can keep up and measure themselves against someone they look up to in the world of working out. You know it shortens your life expectancy? Look at all the wrestlers. None live to real old age. Once you bulge your veins and arteries that much you have to do it for all your life or they do not work properly and you die young just like the wrestlers. 30 minutes a day is safe. 3-4 hours is not. |

Well you’re wrong because Americans don’t even get enough walking and they sit 10 hours. They need 10,000 steps. The problem is I don’t have just one friend that wants to workout I have had several. My workouts would suffer if I only did their workouts. Workout Dude |
