My workout is tailored to me. Plus I go for 3 to 4 hours. Most are not gonna keep up with me. So by working out with them, I'm actually am having to play down to their level. I never understood why people need partners to motivate them to workout. If you can't motivate yourself, you're in trouble. Quoting: Workout Dude How should I tell them that I workout for hours and if they can't keep up with me, it does me no good? Is that rude? It really annoys me how friends who have never worked out actually ask me if they can join in. if hes never worked out maybe hes interested in learning the ropes and youre just a shitty friend ![]() |

For example, you use the German Volume Method. So you only get 60 seconds in between sets, no time to train with them unless you give them a One Time deal. In that case you'll have to waste a day and be nice to someone. [link to www.gymguider.com (secure)] Under Rest Intervals you see that it says 60 seconds. |

Not everything is for you. Some things are about bonding and building relationships that matter. Your body will die one day, it will let you down, no matter how hard you push yourself today. The only thing that matters in this life are the people you helped and who helped you. The people who care about you. Those are the ones who will be at your side when your body starts to die. Holding your hand, maybe. Stop being a piece of shit and work our with them. I promise you, for them, it’s not about the workout. It was never about the workout. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75890432 ![]() 01/25/2021 11:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | But yes I am like other posters, don’t be a dick head. If you do not want people joining your workouts. Then quite boasting to your “friends” about how much you know about lifting weights and the correct training methods and correct use of form. If you would stop being a know it all on these subjects, then people would not be curious and want to join and learn. Yeh your buddy probably stroked up encouragement to ask if he could join. So don’t be a dick. Let him workout with you once or twice a week. Besides muscles need different workouts. So switch it up, it might benefit you more then you realize. Muscle adapt to routine and do not pass the next threshold until you change your habits. And don’t make it a habit of being a dick. Unless you want to be alone with no friends. Which I prefer, but I have needed to be a dick to accomplish this goal. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75890432 ![]() 01/25/2021 11:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you do not want people joining you then quit talking about working out. You probably owe them something, since they put up with all your BS talk all day long about working out. So they figure that is the only thing you like doing in life since it is all you ever talk about. And they are intrigued because that is all you discuss. Makes sense now? |
