You can buy 50Lb bag of rice for $32.00. With 1 cup of rice, 5.6 oz., you can cook 1 pot of rice feeding a family of 4 for 1 day. Therefore, 50 Lbs will make 800 oz / 5.6 oz = 142 pots of cooked rice, which is about 4.7 months in the USA. So, it's not extreme.

Can someone explain to me how buying silver will destroy the wealthy? Spouse says rich people have already gotten out of the market, waiting for it to crash and then they buy. Is spouse correct or can we, the common man, really stick it to the rich where the sun don't shine?

I just checked my go-to bullion dealer Provident Metals, and they are pretty much out of sovereign silver coins- American Eagles, Silver Maple Leafs, Britannias, etc. Same thing with generic 1oz coins. I had checked last night and they seemed to have them in stock, so I guess there was a run overnight and today.

When you position for a short or a put, you basically sign yourself up for a contract for silver (or whatever) to be at a certain level at the end of the contract.

Hedgies cannot just 'get out of the market' because they have essentially bought a market position 'contract' that doesn't expire until a certain date.

I just watched the Polish market dry up on everything 125PLN to 135 in the last hour. Stuff that was 129, refreshed to 155 in my cart, then unavail.... Got 10 oz so now I'm a big shot investor. Now, on to find cocaine... j/k j/k. Drugs are bad

I ask because in some cases there can be a need for a different potential buyer to want an assay to insure it really IS a 10 ounce bar.

Does $USD taste better? There may come a time when they will only accept Silver for wheat and corn and whatever else.

I wouldn't count on the sale if the price goes crazy , They will just cancel the transaction and your money will be tied up in a refund for a few days . It's not quite that easy.... some will ship but most wont be willing to take the loss

Bars are worth less at sale than rounds. Coins are worth more than rounds.

If there is a massive upswing, then bars and rounds are the way to go. If you expect a big drop, by coins to preserve value.
