How Many Are Close To A Breaking Point?
I'm posting this because I know I am becoming ever closer to reaching my own breaking point. My wife just lost her job today, which means our refinance falls through, which means we won't get $400 a month lower payments, which means we can't afford our current payment.

I'm not making this thread for sympathy, because glp is certainly not the place for that.

I'm making this thread because if it's happening to me and my household, then I guarantee it is happening to many households nationwide, and also I do need to vent a little. More and more people are falling to the ranks of the unemployed every day thanks to Covid combined with Biden policies. The situation is not going to recover anytime soon. Covid restrictions are becoming more strict, and Biden policies are irrational and insane (just like Biden!).

If it's happening nationwide, then not everyone is intelligent/logical enough to peacefully deal with adapting to a new situation and make life changes. If this is the case, then we very well may reach a tipping point or breaking point where people are willing to do anything to provide for their family (especially things that were previously off-limits in a civil society).

If there is one thing that 2020 taught us, it is that liars, cheaters, and thieves win. And if that is the lesson other people who lose their incomes see, then there will be an increase in liars, cheaters, and thieves among the populace and a potential breakdown of civil society.

Disclaimer: I am not advocating violence nor is violence my mode of operandi in a breaking point. I am just making an observation of cause/effect relationships in society.

They only appear to win if you look at a short enough time line. When you zoom out, you see the real picture. Nothing in this world matters except those who you love and those who love you. When the rest of the world matters it's because you are reacting to the programming. They thrive on compartmentalization. Just look at how they have everything set up. When you remove the compartmentalization and see how everything is connected, you begin to realize that what is happening right here and now is just a tiny spec of reality. But you have to CHOOSE to zoom out. That is what derails the desperation and hopelessness.

Do you currently have a gov backed mortgage? If you do, I wonder if you can still go into a forbearance for a year?

There is certainly a top-down pressure coming from government. They are squeezing us dry until we have nothing left.

But they are also going so fast, that I don't think it's organic. There is a reason we are not seeing here for them to ram as much down our throats as fast as possible.

If you stole an election (via dominion), and you also have full control over the government, then there is no reason to sign Executive Orders as fast as possible. You can take your time looting and pillaging the middle class, because you will never lose another election again and permanently retain your power.

The elites have really broken you people. You thought you were normal. You thought you were protected. You thought you lived in a "free" country.

But if you only read the sentences that I made bold you will realize WHY things are this way, and why the assholes win.

It's because GOOD people don't give a shit. They proved that with covid. Sorry OP, I don't give a shit about your situation just like you and the rest of the community didn't give a shit when I was almost homeless.

Now I"m the one sitting pretty not giving a DAMN.

Enjoy the SHOW.

I'm sorry man.

Depending on your situation, you might look into obtaining an SBA loan to keep afloat for a few months or so. You can get one for sole proprietorships or independent contractor-styled "gig" type jobs as well.

Not for everyone or for every situation either, but it could be worth looking into. Also, various states and counties have plenty of grant/assistance programs, including forgivable loans and such. Again, not an ideal thing to have to do obviously, but could be a smart move depending on your situation.

I'm rootin' for ya, hang in there OP.

That's what I thought too.

And yes, I'm not at my breaking point right now. But I have been shoved to be much closer to my breaking point than what I had previously thought.

Prepare now and assume your breaking point is lower than it actually is.

That's my advice.

Re: How Many Are Close To A Breaking Point?
I have had my life ruined for nearly 29 years now, so i am well past point of no return.

I was stalked all through out 1990's, and then when net came along, they took there stalking to the net to drive me up the wall.

Never worked.

People are horrible, and if you have a thin skin they will drive you up the wall.

Lots of us were living with our lifes ruined long before last year, its only last year most people learn how it feels.

If you got to live a life, good for you, many do not.

The world is a cruel place, and the nasty ones are very good at using themselves and others like them to destroy anyone they want, and everyone believes them.

Just remember when your going through bad times, your not the only one, it does help to appreciate this, as people will play on such illusions a person can have to destroy you.

Its disgusting, but thats life.

For op, always remember that lots of others are having it bad too, and it does help. If you start feeling isolated, and believe its only you, then it can get to you.

It was true. I was better off financially in the past four years than at any point in my life.

That is the only reason I have enough money (roughly 2-3 months) in savings to deal with this right now.

If Hillary had been in office the past four years, I might have been homeless years ago.
