Check out this photoreal digital human I'm working on in Unreal Engine
The head is a photogrammetry scan, the hair/groom was done in Houdini and the eyes are done with Substance Designer.

This is Unreal Engine 4.26 with raytraced shadows, ao, reflections, translucency, etc.

When people talk about having themselves preserved digitally after they die, this is pretty much what they're talking about.

Anyways, thought I'd share it with the forum.

Cheers.

looks like you know you're way around unreal.

however there is something that the unreal engine does that makes things look... unreal.

opengl vs direct3d.

if you know the difference between the two back in the day, when you could switch in game between them.

You have to use DX12 to use the raytracing features on the GTX and RTX cards.

I think that may change with Vulcan though.

That's it BFD, we must collaborate.

You name the 3D object you want and I'll model it for you.

You've got to texture it and bring it to life.

I usually use Houdini for my main 3d app, but I've used Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, Modo, pretty much most of them aside from Lightwave.

I have a few scenes I've made in DAZ too... although I don't use it much anymore.

Bryce! I remember making some mountains in that back in Junior High... so that's over 20 years ago now.

I had no idea it was still around, I don't hear anything about it anymore so I almost forgot about it tbg.

That'd be cool.

It looks like you've got some hard surface work, I'd be down to texture something like that in Substance Painter for sure.

DAZ bought Bryce and said they would update it and never did a thing with it since 2004 but it still has some Die hard users. I use it mostly to texture and render, the Metal lab and reflections is insane. I do mostly Fantasy Motorcycles and such.

Yeah, I think it was called Bryce3d or something a long time ago.

Reflected light is the wrong hue. Needs graying down and pushed toward the blueviolet. It competes to much with the warm source lighting.

I'm going back and do a deeper analysis of your transition from highlight to cast shadow.

I just set up two quick rim lights... it's easy enough to change the color.

The main light is actually slightly blueish, to simulate a blue sky through a skylight.

There's also a sky dome with an HDRI to fill things in a bit.

I think you're just seeing her skin complexion, it's very yellow-orange for sure.
