Quoting: Moonpie 78713675 I took a little over a pound of 80/20 ground beef. I mashed it up in a bowl. I chopped up half an onion, i throw in bread crumbs ...some from 'bread crumbs' and some from grating some bread. I use an egg + salt + pepper + touch of garlic powder + dried basil + italian seasoning. make about 16 smaller meatballs. brown them in the skillet with a little more salt and olive oil. Meanwhile... I got a jar of Classico tomato & basil sauce. I cut up a fresh tomato. I add 12oz of Del Monte diced tomatoes in basil and oregano. I mix it all together and add some water and olive oil. I add some choped onion + chopped red onion + a little chopped green pepper I take more basil and italian seasoning. I take the browned meatballs and dump them in the sauce and let is simmer. It's not horrible, but i know it can be better. I make mine like this: brown onions and mushrooms in sauce pan in olive oil, spices, chopped garlic. This flavors the pan and olive oil. Then add sauce. DelMonte uses chemicals to peel their tomatoes, Hunts used water pressure. Let simmer, add bay leaf. Then I add the cooked meatballs. Or serve the meatballs on the side. I don't add bread crumbs to my meatballs because they just absorb the fat. Or I just use browned ground beef, drained. Fortis et Fidelis |

I would have used shrooms if I had any around. I like the meatballs to cook in the sauce, only brown them in the pan. I like the breadcrumbs though. |

Each pasta shape and thickness designed for a different use. I just use different kinds all the time. I like the shells with meatballs. Rigatoni is good. Angel hair. Or just spaghetti. But I would like to up my sauce. |
