Cell towers are not getting turned off though which makes this a purposeful outage. DARK WINTER!

We pay through the damn nose for power here, so WTF is all the money from that AND FEDERAL grants from all of the natural disasters that TX has had in the last 5 years. ERCOT was given SHIT TONS of money to harden the grid after each one of those to rebuild and harden the grid. For example, the load on the grid right now is no more than what happens in the summer. AC in TX blows 24x7 in the summer, especially between July and Sept creating a much heavier load than right now. Most furnaces in TX use gas, not electric to run them like AC. In the summer, there wouldn’t be the loss of wind turbines due to freezing or loss of solar due to stormy skies. The loss of renewables in the winter months shows the weakness; a system that relies on renewables will experience supply collapse in certain weather conditions.
