Texas/Oklahoma border here,,,, still about 5 inches of snow from last storm,,,, snowing now,,, got about another inch in the last hour or so,,, here is the story,,, most businesses closed due to no power, ones that are open have already ran out of nearly everything, lots of places where credit card/atm cards not working, so cash only,,,, any fast food place open has ran out of food, 3-4 hour lines to fill propane tanks, water off in most places, power only on about 15 minutes in 8 hrs if lucky, no pet food left in any store open, gas stations that are open are running out of fuel,grocery stores closed due to no water or broken pipes, shit getting real out here folks.... stay safe....

Shit you not. They have warming centers set up to go warm up. But you can’t stay. So I guess those using cars as warmers now have a destination for a short bit.

this is going to have long lasting ripple effect,,,, lots of truckers are stranded due to no power to pump diesel fuel and roads closed due to ice, so, lots of deliveries not being made, things going to snowball, no fuel deliveries be made either so nothing moving for a while,,,,

Most cell sites have generator power that will probably keep them going for a good week or two, as long as the data umbilical doesn't loose service. Especially in a hurricane prone area, by law in florida cell sites and other places like grocery stores have generator backup power.
