No, they were in the mall already before he started shooting. this was reported on MSNBC yesterday.
Supposedly they were speaking to the mall security personal about their security. All seems alittle too coincidental to me.

just looking at the pics again on cnn, what struck me as odd was the camera would have to be at face level to get that shot, have you ever seen a camera at that level? the ones i have seen are all above head level, looking down,, seems really odd

Julie said she heard noise getting closer, but she didn't know what had happened. She said she went out of the dressing room and saw other people in the store running and laying down, so she went back into the dressing room.

Let me see if I got this right, he walks into the mall with a concealed SKS, then he gets on an elevator, takes out the SKS, rolls the sleeves of his black shirt up OVER the sleeves of his thermal undershirt (all the while the SKS is where? on the floor? OK. The he comes out, grows a quick five o-clock shadow, has his hair permed and then starts shooting near the only head level security camera on the mall and happens to hit 6 out of 8 people who just all happen to be employees of the same store?

Did I miss anything?

There is a major difference in front sight profiles between an SKS and an AK, owning both, I can tell the difference, even in that blurry photo. The AK sight is much taller, as is the gas tube and rear sight sitting on top of that.

Look at the three pics. First pic shows him with gun raised and no time. Second pic shows him entering mall at 13:42:33, third pic shows him in mall moments before shooting started time 13:36:27. How does he enter mall after he is already in there? Why does the first pic not have a time on it? All surveillance videos have a time.
