Going to TRY to enter Canada? Canada says "WE DON'T WANT YOU - EVEN if you are Canadian!"

The world continues to further restrict travel, and government EVERYWHERE are relishing having the ability to stop the common person from being able to move about on their own. A good example here in the US is Biden's trial balloon talk of PROHIBITING TRAVEL TO FLORIDA!! (even though it's disease statistics are better than lockdown crazy California to which travel will NOT be prohibited - no politics in that distinction is there?)

Anyway ... do NOT plan on visiting Canada anytime in the foreseeable future ... maybe for years since once Governments start to exercise this kind of "Control" over their population they seldom want to give it up. Justin is just following the example of his Father with his trying to shut off anybody leaving, or coming to, the country he rules. (and Canadians are lapping it up ... the majority seems to LOVE HIM for restricting their Freedoms)

Starting Monday February 22 ALL people entering Canada by air MUST quarantine in an Approved Quarantine Facility for 3 days, which the Canadian Government estimates will COST YOU $2000 or more. You can only enter by air via 4 cities: Toronto; Montreal; Quebec; Vancouver

This 3 day MANDATORY Quarantine is part of a requirement for Testing BEFORE you enter, Testing WHEN you enter, plus an additional 11 days of quarantine elsewhere, AND Testing Again at the END of your quarantine period.

Do you even qualify to TRY to jump through those expensive hula hoops to enter Canada?

Citizens and permanent residents are allowed to enter Canada, but they must quarantine for 14 days. Immediate and extended family members, including those without Canadian citizenship, can enter for any reason as long as they are staying in the country for more than 15 days (they must also quarantine). Those coming for fewer than 15 days can only enter for an essential purpose.

All extended family members MUST ALSO have written permission from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). ONLY ESSENTIAL travel and TRANSITING passengers are otherwise allowed. (is that trip to Niagara Falls or to ski at Whistler-Blackcomb essential? NOPE!)

Since November 21, 2021 all permitted arrivals must use the ArriveCAN app or website to submit travel and contact information, a 14-day quarantine plan and a Covid-19 symptom self-assessment.

To go to Prince Edward Island non-residents need to apply for approval to visit in advance (even if you are a Canadian).

fwiw: At the moment, probably not lasting for long, you can avoid the 3 day stay at an Approved Quarantine Facility on YOUR nickle ($2000+), but you still have to do the 14 day quarantine somewhere and still do all the Testing, IF YOU ARRIVE BY LAND (but you can NOT interact with any others before that 14 days is over with (ie: NO taking the bus to where you are going to quarantine once you enter Canada OR apparently even having a friend pick you up at the border if you walk across)

(the only place left that US citizens can easily go to are the Caribbean countries, it is even tough for a US Citizen to go to Hawaii ... sheesh)
