It's Chinese people buying it with cash. Obviously the Chinese govt gives them cash and tells them to go buy up as many as possible. In this way, the Chinese are taking over the West and already own everything.

My neighbor just sold his house got 200K. 6 Months ago it was appraises at 160K. We are in a Bubble. The reason is simple. People are fleeing Democrat controlled cities En Masse. No one wants to have an antifa punk for a neighbor and end up like Portland.

As crazy as this sounds we are in the market to buy and hearing the same things. Houses being purchased within 24 hours and having insider information on the hiuses before they hit the streets. Our realtor has a client that told him he wants this house and whatever the final price let the owner know he is going to pay 5k over that. I have an eerie feeling that corporations are buying these homes to create a housing bubble that they can control but make it look like mass relocation is occurring. I was even contemplating relocating but this is happening everywhere across the US. It's as if they want to force people to stay were they are or back into the big cities.

Needs to stop. I had a feeling something like this was going on. Even during the last crash, prices barely went down, people lost their houses, but then it seemed they rarely hit markets. I heard people say the banks were holding them. Holding them for who?

Really smart plan to create economic situation on near global scale where an entity could end up placing assets in neighborhoods everywhere.

I would agree with you, except that in Portland, Oregon, which has been turned into a third-world cesspit by the moronic dims, the same thing is happening. People should be abandoning their houses just to get outside the city limits, but there's a housing shortage, and prices are skyrocketing. It makes no sense.

I predicted in 2008 that the USA would become one giant rental market with corporations owning & leasing millions of homes.

All the homes in both states that I have homes in are selling like hotcakes. My two states are liberal states.

I asked my realtor and she blew off the question. Which I also found odd. Why didn't she want to answer?

We were looking to downsize one of our homes but nothing is for sale. It would be a great time to sell my big home... We wanted to downsize and get rid of the stairs and get ready for the "golden years"

Houses in the general area here are selling for hundreds of thousands over asking price. 3 bed single family homes needing work for a million bucks. Some pandemic.

The same reason Bill Gates is buying all the farmland. The elite want to raise prices on EVERYTHING. Food, property manufactured goods, drugs.

They want us desperate for their big change.

Sounds like cash the dollar is going to become worthless and the people in the know are buying hard assets.

Thats what is happening in our small town. Noise, trash, cars racing by, parties, many in one home. Not sure where we will go.

I know a house in Ft. Lauderdale that just got snatched up quick....less than 24 hours after listing. Cash - OLD house, too! I knew the owner (before they passed) and it needed a LOT of work.

I'll research it after the closing and see just what name is on the new title.

Yeah, we're already in a small area, but recently moved into an "Old fart's park" just to get away from the TRASH that ruined our neighborhood and our home of 20 years.

Got a decent price for it (although of course, I would have liked more!), but now we are surrounded by "like-minded" folks, and we all have each others' back.

I don't like the "closeness," but the security is a good trade-off.
