Out in northern Utah, fishing late one night with the folks. We were on the north side of the lake facing south, it's pitch black out - no moon, nothing. (I think we MAY have been out there illegally, but I'm not sure...)

My dad calls me over and says, "Watch the skies to the south - about two fingers above the horizon." I watch for a few minutes, not sure what I'm looking for. Suddenly he says, "There - see it?" and points off the left. I see a light sitting there, kind of blends in with the stars (a little brighter, but not ridiculously so) at first, so I'm not getting what he's looking at. All of a sudden it just blinks out.

Doesn't twinkle/fade. Just goes out.

About 2 seconds later, he points off to the right and says, "Over there now" so I shift and I'm looking at bunch of stars when one of them blinks off.

After a few times of this, I get my eyes used to looking at large patches of the sky rather than trying to focus on one point in the sky - at this point we're both tracking this light that comes on, sits perfectly still in one spot for about 10 seconds, then blinks off only to reappear somewhere else about 5 seconds later.

We watched this go on for about a half hour before it finally just blinked off and was gone.

Over the years, we'd talk about it from time to time but we never did come up with anything that made sense.

in my home life, I literally get called crazy for trying to show people this RIGHT NEXT TO ME

They won't even look.

WEIRD

I’ve done this over a hundred times and get a response just by asking them to flash and it happens just as he explains it. You ask telepathically/ politely to flash and you get a response just like a light bulb going on and off. Then it moves in the same direction and you ask again and flash it goes off again. I got it to do it 7 times in a row one time. But the power ups got dimmer each time because it was losing its energy. Between 1am and 3 am is the best time to do it.
