Is this a valid answer to the virus crossing the blood brain barrier question?

"It would not be expected that the COVID-19 vaccines would cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) for a few reasons.

mRNA vaccines:

Most of the protein that is made is bound to cells - The vaccine is injected into muscle, where dendritic cells in the area use the mRNA to make the COVID-19 spike protein. These dendritic cells, after making the spike protein, put the protein (not the mRNA) on the cell surface, travel to the nearest lymph node, and stimulate other cells of the immune system to make an immune response against the protein. This process is typical of our adaptive immune system, which you can find out more about in this animation.
The protein itself is too large to cross the BBB.

Adenovirus vaccine:

The virus is too large to cross the BBB." [link to www.chop.edu (secure)]

Not really.... because there are soooooo many variables.

Less than 50%

Under physiological conditions, the BBB protects the brain from pathogens, xenobiotics, various cells and proteins, and neurotransmitters present in the blood, but its permeability can be changed under various conditions, such as stress, hypoxia, hypertension, high osmotic concentrations, high PCO2, hypoglycemia, chemical toxicity, and traumatic brain injury.

This was pretty much the plan the whole time to let the virus run through..they where just managing the hospital numbers..now that's down things will fully open

I still say we will all get the virus let the count down begin. For better or worse that's the likely scenario

I had Covid in Late June, So far i can't find any good info on how long i will have natural immunity, if any at all?? The Virus DEFINITELY crossed the BBB.
It is found in autopsies; multiple routes of entry via olfactory bulb or axonal transport...

Not only that, but the S1 protein crosses the BBB all on its own...
The S1 protein of SARS-CoV-2 crosses the blood–brain barrier in mice
[link to www.nature.com (secure)]

Which is why I am now VERy wary of the 'vaccines', because the brain damage could be coming from the S1 all on its lonesome.

The “virus” has been found in DEAD people
Obviously when someone dies, the oxygen slowly gets depleted and the BBB shrivels up.

No DOCTOR has drilled a hole through the skull of a
LIVING HUMAN BEING to determine if the virus is inside the Brain.

So no not proven yet. Maybe some live mice maybe they was dead.

Details....

You don’t need the virus in the brain. So unproven isn’t the concern.

The MK cells are enough to cause the issues.

Be a douche again.... and you can enjoy your details elsewhere.

And he can go to Hawaii. That’s fine. His pen and paper are not as accurate as the hopium needs to be.

When these folks find out how often boosters are needed and even those are not guaranteed..... will they still line up?
 Quoting: CleverCreator

OK, well... so what if boosters are needed? Does that mean everyone is going to die?

If a year of vaccinations, even if that takes booster shots, can get virus levels down to where contact tracing can be effective... we can get to the New Zealand model of control.

It's either that or let the shit run it's course. It is too late to try to stamp this shit out with lockdowns.

Your choice, what is more dangerous... getting the jab or getting COVID?
 Quoting: R. Wordsworth

That's a false dilemma argument, since *not* getting the jab does not automatically result in getting Covid. A third possible option would be to voluntarily hold off on getting a vaccine and voluntarily continuing to isolate and take protective measures while waiting on the science to catch up with the vaccines and the virus variants. This is *my* plan, by the way. I will take the vaccine once enough time has passed for me to observe how people I know personally do with it and whether or not the virus variants render this year's vaccine impotent. If I am satisfied with the results of both of those observations, then I will get the vaccine, but I will be doing so on *my* terms and by making an educated, informed decision based on my personal observations.

Sure they said could.... that’s them being nice.... however, between the individual case studies plus a few longhaulers group studies....

I would be willing to stand before a governmental body and fight for getting safeguards in place.... because this brick wall.... it gets here within 5 years... if and only if the vaccines slow spread.

However, if the other side is unfortunately correct.... and this keeps spreading , but under the radar.... this brick wall gets here sooner.

That’s the crux of the issue. It fucking sucks at how badly this keeps going.

The next concern is vaccinated folks not understanding they are infected.... and the cycle continues.
 Quoting: CleverCreator

With that being said. Yesterday had to take hubby to the medical center for a blood test. We thought we'd go early and beat the crowds (7:45 a.m.). Boy, were we ever wrong. They usual open at 8 a.m. but were open and there were about 50 people in line outside the building (social distancing hee hee). The majority of the people looked elderly. We said sayonara later.

We came back about 3:30, yesterday, and no line, few peeps. When in the lab the phlebotomsit told us it's good we left and came when we did because they were swamped all morning. The line was to get the COVID19 vaccine! The thought of being in a multistory building with tons of people who have just gotten THE SPECIAL SHOT is gross to me.

What a trip.

Back from drain declogging ... was successful (on my second attempt -- I tried a few days ago, too) with a handheld drain snake down the grate, a long hook up the pipe, a longhandled grabber, and a fair amount of elbow grease. Came home smelling like Wordsworth! (In fact, I thought of him as I was mucking around in the nasty water with poop and rotting seeds.... yuck.)

I think CDC-ATL brings up an interesting question, put side by side with the many longterm sequelae we know exist for some patients (and the many articles CC and others have posted on this).... of course science doesn't yet have the answers to this question, but it is interesting to ponder why some areas seem to have a lot of people who fail to recover, whereas others don't.

In my personal circle, I now know a lot of people who have lost friends and relatives to this, and I personally know two longhaulers, and a few others who may turn out to be longhaulers. I'm thinking maybe certain variants are more likely to have longterm consequences. The CA variant seems to be pretty nasty -- though the science is so contradictory it's a bit hard to make much sense of it.

Let me throw this out there, just as a point of comparison. Many people who get Lyme recover just fine, especially with early antibiotics. Some seem to recover, but then relapse. Some people don't recover fully even with early antibiotics, and for some of us it becomes a lifelong disease. The science has been really skewed regarding Lyme (don't get me started on that) so it is hard to know the real percentages of people who become Lyme lifers, but it's added up to millions of us over the years.

At least with COVID, there's already a fair amount of attention being put towards the longhaulers, unlike with CFIDS, chronic Lyme, Fibromyalgia, and so forth (all of which are likely post-infectious or long-term infection syndromes). This is happening because an estimated 10 to 20% of infected people go on to develop long-haul COVID... and the numbers of chronically ill people will be staggering.
 Quoting: Doommonkey

Nice response ty.
This is my issue that's the reason I posted. Wife is kinda running out faith on this thing, I myself have fair more questions than awnser. We do have friends in the medical field, their kids all in school and they go on vacations.
I see the studies and no I dont read them all. But I kinda feel like I dont have any legs to stand on when I say no we shouldn't go here or there not yet.

I think I have some fair questions that we should have some answers, or some hypotheses to why is been such a slow go on a virus that shut the world. I'm not a doctor nor scientifically minded. (Joe the lab assistant) I've told cc for our family this virus has been a plus, we focus more on family, knew ideas to have a family outing, I stopped chasing money and started realizing what matters.

Anyways hope you all are well! We did a 7 hour hike with a couple yesterday and the distance and being outside made me feel comfortable
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78885608

I’m with you, we have been locked down pretty much since February. I have many friends that have gone on vacations, go to parties, go to bars, out to dinner etc and none of them have gotten freaking sick! My 17 year old was getting so depressed I told her she should go to her boyfriends sisters birthday party and guess freaking what, we all got covid from that crap! I have been so safe it’s not even funny! Do a once a month shopping trips order meal delivery we cook at home, no restaurants, nothing! So she and her boyfriend lost their smell and he lost taste, they both felt kind of crummy for a day or two and that’s it. I never had a fever, lost my taste and smell and I’m on two weeks now of feeling pretty crappy. Hubby is now sick too. No taste or smell. The taste thing is weird, you can taste sweet, salty, sour but no flavors. My smell is kind of coming back but I still have it where my lungs feel like I just went on a hard hike. I haven’t had a lot of congestion in them but we’ve been tired, worn out easily, just a weird deal. I have been loaded up on everything! I took ivermectin, chaga, elderberry, wormwood, quercetine, vitamin d, vitamin c, etc. maybe that helped it not get worse? Or it didn’t help at all, who knows. But it is frustrating. Now all my idiot friends are shocked that I’m the first one to catch it because I’ve been the “careful” one. It’s frustrating. I sure hope there isn’t long term effects.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76809123

A nutritionist put out a video on telegram that the loss of smell and taste is Zinc deficiency. And she said to take zinc for that and it will return. This is why so many who get COVID lose their smell and taste she said it’s your body’s deficiency.
