Omicron hits L.A. healthcare hard Quoting: Guythu [link to www.latimes.com (secure)] The sirens are all I hear every night lately. Saddening and maddening. It's like that here, in our little city, too. We're about 5 blocks or so from the nearest firehouse, but we're starting to notice the ambulances coming from other directions. They're coming for other firehouses. They usually don't run the sirens later at night either, just lights. |

Quoting: JAZZz50 they have no clue. They don't. It's pretty obvious, unless this is really what they mean to do. Are they making it up as they go along or is all of this deliberate? I flip back and forth on it. Are they that dumb or that evil? Or both? Damned if children don't go to school (psychological issues, parents cannot work, economy damaged..etc). Damned if they do go to school (Covid). I do not think there is any grand malicious master plan. It's just humans making it up as they go as there is no playbook for any of this, with the possible exception of the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic. . [link to www.nationalhealthexecutive.com (secure)] "This isn't the first time leaders have struggled with deciding whether to keep schools open in a pandemic. During the influenza pandemic in 1918, even though the world was a very different place (for one thing only 1.8 billion people as opposed to 7.9 billion now), the discussion was just as heated. That pandemic killed an estimated 5 million people (the equivalent of 21.9 million dead now) worldwide, including 675,000 Americans, before it was all over. While the vast majority of cities closed their schools, three opted to keep them open -- New York, Chicago and New Haven, according to historians. The decisions of health officials in those cities was based largely on the hypothesis of public health officials that students were safer and better off at school". .. Lago User ID: 81536351 United States 01/13/2022 01:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah Wordsworth, Moderna is the shit alright. Same as all of them apparently at 20 weeks+ against Omicron. Quoting: Guythu SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern and variants under investigation in England Technical briefing: Update on hospitalisation and vaccine effectiveness for Omicron VOC-21NOV-01 (B.1.1.529) Among those who had received 2 doses of AstraZeneca, there was no effect against Omicron from 20 weeks after the second dose. Among those who had received 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna effectiveness dropped from around 65 to 70% down to around 10% by 20 weeks after the second dose. 2 to 4 weeks after a booster dose vaccine effectiveness ranged from around 65 to 75%, dropping to 55 to 70% at 5 to 9 weeks and 40 to 50% from 10+ weeks after the booster. PDF: [link to assets.publishing.service.gov.uk (secure)] h/t: ThailandMedical.news So, is there even any point to me getting a Moderna booster? Probably "teaching your grandmother to suck eggs" but I still believe it's a personal decision based on your age, co-morbidities, and work environment. For the record, both of my 30 year old sons and all their friends, many whom work in hospitals, are all boosted (a few breakout covid cases have occurred but, so far, they have all been mild). I have mentioned before that 10 unvaccinated people have died in my LA sons 2000 work environment but 100's are off with long covid (we just don't know whether long covid will occur with omicron or whether vaccines will help.) However, it seems likely that long covid will rear its ugly head and should also be a part of your decision. Last Edited by Lago on 01/13/2022 01:51 PM Lago |

Quoting: LJS I just popped a fever and my nasal passages feel like raw meat. <----- Last time I felt that was when I had H1N1. Mini LJS and Micro Mini LJS will be tested tomorrow, Mr. LJS on Saturday. If any pop positive, I will assume I am positive. I do not intend to go for a test unless the symptoms get bad. Would prefer to not take up ER or Urgent Care space unless necessary. Better to stay at home and battle the beast. My sister and her husband and two kids had it during the Christmas break. She said it was pretty much like the flu, but that they have seen worse. They are all better now. I hope you guys have a better or at least similar experience. I know you are prepared, which is awesome. First tell the truth, then give your opinion.... |

For example, I have zero qualms about downing food grade EOs, we homeschool since the early 90s, etc. We use all types of supplements, but with ivermectin there is some gut feeling it is not for us.
