Texan Buckeye --

I'm not going to continue quoting that huge post/response. I always seem to mess up the html when I try to shorten them.

Unfortunately, no -- there is nobody else. I had/have to take care of everything. I have an unofficial step-sister
(parents never married, but we blended families for a number of years.) She is doing a little of the legwork, like looking for movers, etc. I think I am going to use the broker she used when she sold her father's house. But, legally, everything has to be done by me.

Her offers of help are somewhat useful, but she is doing a lot of telling me what to do, and acting as if my process is going to be the same as hers was when she handled her father's estate. It's a totally different situation, as she wasn't there when her father was ill, nor when he died. Plus, his house had already been cleared out and was being rented when they decided to sell it, so all she had to do was make a few phone calls

She's also healthy, and assures me that "Omicron is mild" so I shouldn't be worried about it. She's utterly clueless as to what it means to be immunocompromised, though she might be starting to get an inkling of it, as I am being quite vocal on the matter.

Telling her that I managed to get staph infections on both arms last month from some minor scratch/bug bite/something kinda got her attention. That's in addition to the systemic yeast flareup, and the recurent UTIs that I have had for months.

I can't seem to shorten them either, don't feel bad.

Yikes! You sure don't need a bossy anybody. You are an intelligent woman. You can do this. Honestly, I was surprised at how easy my mom's paperwork was, unlike my mother-in-law's. That mess was really caused by having 3 out of 4 siblings bossing each other around. I'm a little surprised that they all still talk to each other.

Also, if you don't have one already, make sure you have a good lawyer. They will be an amazing amount of help. The bankers should be too. Both made a big difference in getting the estate taken care of as easily as possible. I don't know anything about reverse mortgages, so I can't help there.

I can't think of anything else that might help. You already know to take care of yourself, too. Again, you can only eat an elephant one bite at a time, kiddo. Find your start point and don't let yourself get overwhelmed. I know, easy to say...hard to do.
