Weird coincidence: Writing "The Lord's" on the back of my right hand.
I don't know why, for sure. But a few months ago, I suddenly decided to write

"THE
LORD'S"

...on the back of my right hand.

Every few days it would fade, and I would re-write it.

I've been reading through the Bible for several years, at a pace of about once through each year. I must have been in Deuteronomy or Joshua--somewhere around there--but when I came to Isaiah a couple weeks ago, I came to this verse:

"One will say, `I belong to the LORD'; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, `The LORD's,' and will take the name Israel." Is. 44:5

Maybe it means nothing, but I thought I would post it here to see if any of my Christian friends may have done the same...

I know I am not eligible to be part of the 144,000, btw, because I am old, and not a virgin. PLUS, the Lord puts HIS mark on them (whatever that turns out to be) and not the chosen ones themselves.

Interesting. I am not being sarcastic in the least, I wish I could write with my left hand onto my right. I like the idea of sealing my right hand with the words "The Lord's".

I am not certain I understand what you feel it means, but I like the idea because it is a subtle but powerful means of evangelism, imo.

Thanks.

I do remember thinking they'd have a harder time putting a mark there if I already had one there, but... The fact it matched up weeks later with that verse, EXACTLY, was cool.

Even though I've read the Bible a few times, I did not even remember that verse being in there.

You can do it if you write very slowly. Try it!

Maybe we'll start "a thing."

I know it will tick off the NWO types, if nothing else..so...

AND, you're right, it might become an opening to witness.

OP - I know its confusing but I want you to know what Isaiah 44:5 really said when Isaiah wrote it

"One will say, 'I belong to Yahweh/YHWH', another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, "Yawheh's/YHWH's" and will take the name Israel"

Israel means Struggled with God, or Triumphant with God.

I applaud you for declaring your loyalty to God, but please dont let some translators water down the name of yahweh with a title like lord. Every time it is LORD in all caps or the LORD it really said Yahweh.

Lord means nothing more than master, owner, sire, leader. It is not explicitly indicative of the all powerful creator. But of course most people today think lord=god

Wrong. The bible is quite clear that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lord's. It's more than acceptable to address Him as Lord. Furthermore. OP is NOT too old. The 144000 go forth empowered to do exploits during the worst time in history. Just as Sarah was made young again to have a baby in her old age, so will the 144000 be transformed and have all the supernatural ability that Christ had when he walked on earth in his ministry. This comes from walking in the fullness of Christ, not just born again, full on empowerment because without seeing a miracle they will not believe. It's last call. The bible also outlines how gentiles are grafted in to the tree, yes, the one the Lord is of and so whatever your ancestry, if you belong to Christ, you qualify. Furthermore, there were 288000 in David's army. Revelation says only 144000. That is because they go out as couples, male and female whom God has joined together as one. Each couple are counted as one. I know I'll get a lot of flack for that but I'm a christian and I hear from God and another I won't follow, and, I'm telling you, this is what he has told me/shown me. If you hear from God, feel free to ask yourself. There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets to those who ask. So yes OP, you should ask God if you are chosen for working the field. Many are called but few are chosen. It's a great honor to be chosen.

Thanks. That's very interesting, especially as I had always heard they would be virgins. But, I also found this now:

Does your wrist have "and Taylor"?

Did Jesus, or the Apostles write on their hand or body?
Saints?

Maybe a tattoo?
How about the Lords Prayer as a tramp-stamp?

Or, maybe a QRS/barcode-go hi tech.

I know I am not eligible to be part of the 144,000, btw, because I am old, and not a virgin. PLUS, the Lord puts HIS mark on them (whatever that turns out to be) and not the chosen ones themselves.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13974542

I think "being a virgin" simply means having not defiled yourself with a false church. The Bride of Christ is the Church. The Whore of Babylon is the false church. Churches symbolically are women.

I have been doing some interesting reading that the Bible clearly shows that the mark of God is the Sabbath as defined by the Ten Commandments. Look at the only Commandment that starts our with the word "Remember". Then ask yourself why Christians worship and "rest" on the first day of the week.

It simply means you are slave minded, OP; being a slave is in your nature and you strongly desire to not just be, but announce that you are the property of another. You take pride in this and wear your masters ownership of you willingly and prominently for all the world to see.

Thanks. That's a bit "out there" for my literalist upbringing, but I appreciate the comments.

I've considered all the arguments v.v. the "true Sabbath" and, like I mentioned once before, I think God wants us to be right with Him in our hearts, and is not as concerned with "form."

Substance > Form
