And it’s not their official site. A-they wouldn’t have .org top level domain with FRED as bottom B-they wouldn’t have go daddy hosting it. Empires don't collapse over night, they collapse slowly at first and then all at once. The people who have been claiming doom all these years have been right, it's just impossible to know when exactly things will fall apart all at once. Rome provides an excellent example of this principle in action... But even Rome is not really a good example. The western empire collapsed, but the eastern empire went on for hundreds of more years. Even today we see the remnants of old Rome everywhere, so did that even really "collapse"? It's still with us in many ways. Maybe pre-diluvean civilizations? Now THERE was a complete collapse we'll never know about. |

There's not vast quantities of land, population and economy waiting to be lost through the loss of an empire. The US will see its unipolar power fade but Rome or the Soviet Union or British Empire are not good examples because the US has never had a real empire like they did. |

Ordinarily I would say you are absolutely correct. But I bought the house years ago with a two year lock on the very low interest rate, (and then it floats, I think it was 3.75 at the time) and over the years I thought wow perhaps I need to convert, but the rate kept going down. Now I only have 60K left on it and if we get hyper inflation I will simply pay the 60k off. |
