It's getting close to 11:30 pm and I am starting to get sleepy.

I live my best life at 50% protein, 45% Good Fat, and 5% carbs.

I went off keto for a week and felt like shit. No pasta dish or dessert is worth giving up how good I feel in ketosis

Not sure if it’s related, but since I lost my job in December, I have gone to bed feeling fine, and wake up after 5-6 hours of fitful sleep drenched in sweat and achey all over (like when you’re coming down with a bug), can’t go back to sleep or get comfortable without taking Advil and then spend 1-2 hrs tossing and turning, desperate to get a little quality sleep in more of an alpha state, waking occasionally with rolling hot and cold spells until I actually have to get up. Then I spend the majority of the day feeling lightheaded, my head foggy and finding it hard to concentrate, nauseous, throbbing headaches and cranky while I struggle to work on resumes and job applications while babysitting my sister’s 4 boisterous boys until bedtime. I find I have become intolerant to excessive noise. Then I suddenly feel a bit better, try to get more quality work done before falling asleep.
I’ve been chalking most of the pain and inability to get comfortable to 2 failed spinal surgeries, and the sweats and rolling hot flashes to peri menopause (I started taking estroven 3 weeks ago at night, but doesn’t seem to be doing much) but it’s the crippling fatigue and brain fog all day that finally lifts around 9pm I can’t figure the cause, other than the house is quiet when the kids go to bed. I realize that I have some depression from losing my beloved job of 13 years due to the spinal injury sustained at work and current inability to get proper exercise due to the injury.
However, what is more worrying to me is that I have struggled to find motivation to accomplish the most basic of tasks, like going grocery shopping or cleaning the house.
I have strange recurring dreams that my waking hours are the dreams and my dreams are the reality. Some days I feel like we’re all slowly dying in a mass extinction and the truth is being withheld so we don’t panic. And other days I think that I’m already dead or in a coma and am not totally aware of it like The Sixth Sense movie.
I have not seen a Dr yet, because I know they will throw antidepressants at it and from past experience, they numb me out and take away all remaining motivation to get off my ass. I’m close to the point of desperation to find a job and at the same time terrified of starting over in a new career field.

I hope you get better soon. You could see a homeopath instead of a conventional doctor. You also could try some herbal infusions to reduce anxiety, like lavender, lemongrass or passionfruit leaves.
