Obama Backs Reparations: Says Country Was ‘Built on the Backs Of Slaves,’ Blames Opposition on ‘White Resentment’

My ancestors are from Canada going back to the 1750s and in Massachusetts before that and none of them had any slaves. They worked their own farms with their own hands. I have the census records to prove it. My grandfather was a Pentecoastal minister and had a fully integrated church in Boston in the 1920s when we returned back to the US. FULLY integrated with black Americans.

My husband is first generation from Eastern Europe. NO SLAVES.

Why should we pay for something we had nothing to do with? The overwhelming majority of white Americans had ancestors who were NOT here during or before the Civil War, and the ones that WERE here, didn't have slaves either because that was the 1% or so, like Obama and Biden and Harris whose people were wealthy enough to afford slaves.

If Biden & Obama want to pay for their slave owning ancestors, be my guests but it has NOTHING TO DO WITH ME OR MY FAMILY and we all need to stand up and say NO.

The ONLY people in this country due reparations are the Indians.

The blacks continuously complain about how oppressed they are, let them walk in our shoes for a few days.

Oh please, please do. Will 100,000 a piece be enough? More? Let’s do it. Whites overwhelmingly voted in a black man twice for president. Blacks are making up entire city councils in major cities. They are mayors, Representatives, Senators, Supreme Court justices, police and fire chiefs, head of school boards, principals of schools, Attorney Generals.....and blacks are some of the wealthiest entertainers and sports stars who are idolized by whites. My black neighbors have beautiful homes and cars.
