These hunts are not illegal and giraffes are not endangered. Yes, unfortunately no one but poachers and thieves profit from this. To me - this is really no different that hunting feral hogs here in the US. Yes the pose with the heart is a bit odd but the world has all types. Anonymous Coward User ID: 80065655 United States 03/01/2021 09:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Osmium76 Wow, what a nice gift! She is so blessed to be able to do this! I would eat Giraffe. I wouldn't eat horse. The first is defined as a clean animal for food by the bible and the second isn't. I only eat meat defined within the bible as food. Animals defined by distinct criteria are identified as food and are good to eat. Animals that don't share those distinctions are NOT to be used for food. To eat them is equitable to partaking of an abomination. These are my own personal beliefs. If I had the financial means to make it possible to harvest a Giraffe for personal consumption, I would do it, at least once in my lifetime. So you are going to bring the bible in on this? Are you going to have a sh*t eatin' grin on your face as she does as well? And, last, your "personal" beliefs? I don't think anyone here is interested in being a histrionic sociopath. I voiced my belief and opinion. It isn't misplaced or wrong, just because you don't agree with it. I would shoot and eat a Giraffe. You bet! I also wouldn't have any remorse or ill feelings about doing it. I already eat beef and venison. A Giraffe is simply another food alternative in that class, I would opt for consumption of, if I had the opportunity. You know what---you are right. You can do what you want and that is you right and opinion. It is just hard for me to imagine anyone actually in the USA that has to hunt for food. Unless they get a "kick" from the sport of it. I just cannot imagine putting an end to a creature's life when the new testament tells us what Jesus himself ate and drank. I get that a fish is a life as well, but you were the one bringing the bible into it. Can't remember a time when Jesus was smiling a big grin in front of His disciples about the cow, deer, or giraffe He bagged. Nothing wrong with killing an animal for food, even if other food is available on the market. There is no law that says you must get your food from a store, restaurant or supermarket. I eat what I kill. That hasn't always been the case. I use to shoot rabbits, birds, gophers and squirrels as a kid just for the sport of it with my friends. I clubbed a porcupine to death once and sold it to a fellow who used the quills and other parts for Native American textile reproductions. Some people just don't like other people doing what comes naturally. Real food doesn't come in a plastic wrapper. People like in the video below, are bat shit crazy! *Oh, and just to edit to add: Christ was a Carpenter. If His profession had been as Esau's was, I am sure He still would have found favor with our Creator and take pride in His profession, just as was the case with Esau and his own dad, Isaac, both of whom belong to Christ. Genesis 25 27And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. 28And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob. Esau Sells his Birthright 29And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 31And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright. |

Or An animal roaming the wild and surviving the elements feeling free when finally nature is called and the life living free is ended. But this time its not ended by a lion it was a human. OMG THE OUTRAGE. Cage those animals and make them suffer instead. Then again, Hitler was just the opposite of her and we all know how that turned out for a lot of humans in Germany. Only fucked up minds would kill for fun. Or adolescent ones that need instruction.... or cats...cats often kill simply for fun. When my dad found out I had been killing for sport, he told me, if you are not going to eat it or use it's carcass in any fashion or manner, don't kill it. Only take animals that you plan to eat or use, or that are causing harm or destruction to you or others property in some manner, or have become a threat in some way. That being said, I would take a job culling out of control animal populations like rat, cat, snakes or other such animals and it wouldn't bother me to be paid to do it. I would even participate without pay as a form of charitable community service. I certainly don't condone what was done with the North American Bison. The Bison use to be a mighty herd of beasts upon America's continent. What happened to them, makes me heart sick. That being said, I have purchase, shot and killed a bison while it stood in a fenced enclosure. I did it solely for food. I butchered it, processed it, froze it and ate it. Turns our someone who had drawn a once in a life time moose tag, got their moose and left the heart along with the lungs and offal pile for the ravens. Hunting white tail, I came upon a bull moose once laying in the grass. Before I saw it, I could hear it's heartbeat, standing nearly 20 yards from it. I was with my ex at the time and she was with me. When it stood up and looked at us, she began to panic, lol, because we had closed the distance to about 10 yards before getting eyes on it and she was freaked about it's size and being so close. Not only could you hear the heart beat, but you could FEEL it! After it stood up, we slowly back away to a safer distance and it turned slowly and casually walked off the other way. I can tell you on thing though, legal tag or not, I would have shot it if it had charged us, without hesitation, as a defensive measure. Moose can be very aggressive, or equally nonchalant. It absolutely pisses me off when they bed down on my land during deer season. They are territorial and drive the deer off and other than throwing rocks at them, there isn't much I can do. I did think about calling the game warden and telling him to get his damned tagged moose off of my land.... |
