I’ve used Seresto collars on dogs and cats for the past 5 years with no problems, luckily.

Weird, my cat has one and it has been perfectly fine. No skin burns or bad reactions, it worked great and my cat no longer has fleas. I tried everything to get rid of them before and nothing else worked. Just keep a very close eye on your pet after you put it on, if they start having a bad reaction remove it.

We had a dog for 16 years, and at least five cats at one time or another when the kids were growing up. Not once did I buy a flea collar for a pet. I didn't believe in flea collars, just as I don't believe in spraying a pesticide inside the house. It's poison. I don't understand how people don't understand that.

Don't waste your money on overpriced collars or trips to your Vet.

Buy NITENPYRUM and LUFENURON in bulk [not caps] and follow the directions closely. These are the active ingredients in nearly ALL flea treatments and BOTH WORK on Dog and cats!

Nitnepyrum is used for immediate [it works within 30 minutes] adult flea killing while LUFENURON kills unhatched eggs [and it works for a full month].

BOTH of these are much CHEAPER than replacing collars or Vet visits and you can find both online. JUST SHOP AROUND FOR THE LOWEST PRICE! They are generic and the flea control industry is a big business with many ripoff companies hustling the exact same thing.

Just follow the instructions and follow up with stringent household vacuuming [this is a MUST!] and you'll rid your pet and home from the problem in no time at all.

Over the decades, I've tried them all: bombs, aerosol sprays, powders and even organic, natural compounds and if you have a serious flea infestation they are NOT the way to go! You must be as AGGRESSIVE as the insect itself, or you're just wasting your time and money in the process.

A few notes about using NITENPYRUM and LUFENURON:

Unless your animals accept meds well [and most don't] even tiny little 1/8" caps are tough to get down their throats [I've even tried a pill injector] which is why I buy flea treatments in loose powder form. It's not only CHEAPER [300 doses cost about $35] but easy to use by either sprinkling it directly over wet food or mixing it with a liquids like Milk, broth, gravy or water drained from a can of Tuna [the last one works GREAT because once they think they're getting a treat, cats won't fight you when you try to dose them]. Just don't use plain water - the powders need trace oils to avoid clumping when mixed. HINT: those doses may look small - but it's potent stuff so don't go overboard thinking more is better! Luckily, you have a lot of flexibility since a standard dose will treat animals from 2-11 lbs. The included measuring spoon [which is itself TINY!] has two ends: one for regular doses, the other for larger pets.

NITENPYRUM works IMMEDIATELY on adult, hatched fleas and begins killing within 1/2 hour [usually less!]: your cat will become agitated and start to run around scratching like crazy. THIS IS NORMAL since the fleas bite as they die! This won't last long, even though the drug keeps working for up to 48hrs. You can re-dose in as little as 24hrs for really heavy infestations.

LUFENURON attacks unhatched flea EGGS or larvae and kills for up to a full month. It's the EGGS that make infestations so hard to eliminate since you are constantly being hit with a new batch of fleas every few days. That's why you must also vacuum your house like crazy- as in twice a day... and dispose of those bags immediately, otherwise the little critters will keep hatching, escape and you'll have wasted your time.

BTW: NITENPYRUM and LUFENURON powders work on animals as young as 6 weeks but do NOT give either one to a pregnant or nursing mother.

Apoquel from the vet killed my Rottweiler / Shepherd mix.
It sent her into a extremely violent seizure which killed her 4 days after she started taking it for itching. The vet was not surprised to hear this news and the girls in the office said they would never give it to their dogs but yet he prescribed it.
ALWAYS do.your own research before giving your pet anything!!!
