Making Soup Starting With V8 Low Sodium Juice as my Soup Stock. Any Ideas? What a great idea... How about chunks of lean meat or chicken with barley( pre cooked/boiled). Also mushrooms-again pre cooked. Or rice ? Less nutrition in rice but the v8 base makes up for it. Just thinking it through I would probably dice the meat, air fry it, and toss them into a warmed v8 .Keep the ingredients separate until I wanted to eat it. |

I've been cheating with pre-made frozen grilled chicken chunks. I was thinking about cooking my own and freezing some instead. I haven't decided yet. If I make things too complicated I tend to drift away from my diet.. |

You could caramelize some onions and garlic, use the juice as a base liquid onto this, and then with green lentils, a bit of curry, some diced tomatos and such to make a nice lentil soup.. I've never tried that. I just put some curry powder in an empty shaker I had this morning. I've been trying to use it up since 2017. |

Good idea. |

Any Ideas? Toast a knuckle bone or marrow bone for 15 minutes. Then put it in a stock pot with 2 gallons of water on low for 2 days. Add desired ingredients salt onions ginger turmeric cabbage etc. Strain broth after 48 to 72 hours and add 1 gallon to your v8 for the most nutritious bone broth stock with incredible flavor. Protip: add 2tbsp of acv per gallon to bone broth. Covid is over... |

Making Soup Starting With V8 Low Sodium Juice as my Soup Stock. Any Ideas? I was comparing labels of soup cans last night and they all have so much salt and artificial processed ingredients. Quoting: Hot Dog Harry I noticed that V8 Low Sodium juice has quite a bit less bad ingedients and salt. Any recipe ideas for making a good tomato soup starting with their juice? I've been adding frozen chicken chunks for protein. Those are pretty tasty. My cabinet is full of spices. What have you got? [imgur] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] In my humble opinion, making tomato soup isn't really rocket science (unless you want to use it for rocket propulsion fuel of course). Seriously. Don't you have any kitchen experience whatsoever? I would use fresh tomatoes rather than V8 however, I can tell you that much. I don't care much for its taste, I think it's made from concentrate juices. Just take some tomatoes, some onion, a clove of garlic if you like, some salt, some peper, some French provence herbs, some oregano and/or rosemarin, let cook a bit, you'll be fine and so will the soup. Oh I forgot, some oil (virgin olive oil) would be nice, so you get all the fat-soluble vitamins too. |

Honestly, for tomato soup it's BS (but I am not saying it isn't good in its own right). |
