Question about General Contractor's license

I'm looking into starting a business that designs and installs automated smart home products.

Most of the products are wireless but I plan to sub out any work that requires electrical wiring since I'm not an electrician.

My Questions: Does anyone know if I need to have a general contractor's license to sub out small wiring work to a local handyman/electrician?

This would be in Virginia
