I'm not always on the cops side in these incidents, but these peace officers were there to keep the peace after receiving complaints about a man smoking crack with a gun.Clear and concise instructions were given and the suspect acknowledged he understood them by answering them in english . Not an easy job for sure.

Driving a deadly weapon (car) at police while engaging in suspected felonious activity with a possible hostage at gunpoint + limo tint windows + failure to comply during a felony stop = justified lethal force.

All he had to do was comply and cooperate and if no weapon/drugs found would have been chillin with a 40 on the porch in a few minutes.

Charge cops with murder for protecting the public and there is no reason why they should protect you if a Blexican meth head has you at gunpoint.

I don't just obey someone because he has a gun and a costume on.

The law does not allow anyone to shoot someone simply because they are trying to get away from them.

Traditionally Americans have viewed such things as backshooting or shooting fleeing unarmed people as the epitome of cowardice, and hundreds of "law officers" were strung up or simply shot dead for it over the past 300 years.

This lack of ability to think coherently is a large cause for the collapse of civilization.

It amazes me how many people defend the second amendment and then turn around and defend cops when they shoot someone and use that as an excuse, "I thought he had a gun".

It is important to remember that a police officer has no special rights to employ deadly force and the equal rights amendment states point blank every man and woman is protected by and subject to the same laws,set of paramters which must be met as all people who have taken CC classes should be able to tell you, and can only be employed in the direct defense of human life when a reasonable person would conclude the suspects intent was to kill them.

Shooting a person fleeing you in a car would get you a murder conviction.

I haven’t seen a thread on Dallas police officer charged with two counts of capital murder that was committed in 2017 and just last week was arrested.

Yes. He remained on the job during that time.

1. Caller reports man with gun holding it on a lady. Could be wrong but that’s info cops have to go on.

2. When confronted and given clear and concise demands, suspect refuses to comply.

3. Suspect continues to act aggravated and refuses to comply with commands while re entering a car with what may be a hostage inside per the information given by the caller.

4. Suspect tries to flee with the victim still in the car.

Given the Information at hand I would shoot as well, the same people screaming about the suspect dying would be screaming if he got away and killed the lady in the car. There’s no winning for anyone on this, if cops ask you to comply and you don’t expect to be shot at.

You could see his hands as he drove away?

Where was the probable cause a crime had been committed, much less a felony?
Do you understand that before a police officer can order a citizen to do anything there must be something indicating some crime has been committed is being committed or is about to be committed other than an anonymous caller making muffled claims. For all we really know it was the cops making the 911 call themselves.

I'd say opening fire on him while he had his hands up fully justified his attempt to escape their proximity if I were on the jury, including running them smooth over if he had to. It would be a clear cut case of self defense.

To make this shit stop we are going to have to have more people that can put themselves in the shoes of the dead man before they are the dead man..
