What disease exactly are we trying to cure/treat?

Typically, this is the process for treating/curing a disease.

1. Visit doctor's surgery.
2. Doctor asks you for your symptoms.
3. You inform the doctor of your symptoms.
4. Doctor prescribes a protocol to treat/cure diagnosed disease.

But now what we have is:-

2. Doctor asks you for your symptoms.
3. You inform the doctor you have no symptoms (except for what the man on the television said)
4. Excellent, says the doctor. You need this yummy experimental gene therapy vaxxine. It's very good for diseases with no symptoms. It needs to be administered bi-annually. See you again in 6 months.

Is it the case that Medical Schools have now included in their syllabus some training in Mind Reading and perhaps even a semester of Voodoo training?
