sounds like he is casing your property, to one day rob you, or, maybe one of his chickens escaped?

if i were you id approach him calmly and mention you had an alert come up on your security system HINT HINT.... and say politely, hey was there anything i can help you with?
try to catch him off guard by starting the conversation off topic, and then suddenly jump into the thing about the security footage. talk about baseball, then get him thinking about baseball, then when hes talking about his fav team, distracted, then start questioning. then analyze his responses and go from there.
