I've pondered that myself.

I was a straight a student. In the modern era I would have been the thorn in the side of every teacher and professor!

I'm finding that is a common realization.

Generations just before wouldn't want it any other way really while we watch dissolution of our nation.

Sure. I would go back earlier if I could. 1992 was a good year for me mostly. I have a list of things I would do differently.

Not sure what I would do with no bank account or any way to hold a significant identity.

I guess you would have to check yourself in to a mental institution and basically say you have amnesia but are fully functional as a human being mentally otherwise.

Shit no. I was in 7th ID during the Rodney King verdict. When, during the LA riots I got a phone call at 5 AM on a Saturday, I didn't have to question why. Before the end of the day, 2nd Brigade was in Los Angeles as part of Joint Task Force-LA. I saw shit there that was almost as bad as Afghanistan.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely a child of the 80s. But going back a bit just means we end up HERE again. There have been some fantastical times in my past I’d love to live through again and some I’d like to do differently, but ultimately, you’ll still have the rest of your years to live through after those fleeting moments are gone. Then, where do you end up? Right back to 2020.

Yeah, I think I’d want to take my chances 29 years forward and hope it’s far enough ahead to get out of this current phase we’re in.

No, I wouldn’t want to go through half my life waiting for my wife again. Things suck, but as long as I have her to wake up next to each day, I’m happy with living in the now.

Had a part-time job, parties on the weekend so exciting at that age.

Imagine knowing now about the tech companies cell phone companies etc...investing just at the right time. I would not doubt be a rich man if I could be bring back what I know.

I long for a time of NO social media. I am ok with cell phones and texting but people are tethered to their devices today. Much has disappeared in the way of simply interacting with people one on one.

I'm quite a bit older than you OP and no I wouldn't. Lived through it once, it was enough. Technology has absolutely changed the world and overall, I think for the better.
