I just stopped drinking. IT just makes me tired and feel like shit. I get the illusion of not being bored for 3-4 hours but for what? It's not worth it anymore...

Chocolate smacks the same receptors as alcohol. Pint of Talenti Belgium Chocolate ice cream a night, instead of half a bottle of Jameson has never felt so good. Traded one evil for the another. I did quit smoking too since. Give it a try! Can I suggest Double Dark Chocolate?! Hmmm, they make a phenomenal Apple Pie flavor. And dont go for the layered ones. Waste of fucking money.

My neighbor just developed an allergy to alcohol, he gets night time epilepsy, has fits. He was a musician and did all kinds of drugs, alcohol. Now if he even has cough syrup he goes epileptic. Very wierd, he just turned 60

Boredom was my reason along with depression. But the alcohol caused depression to it was a cycle.

It is possible to become allergic to things you consume daily. And good for you for dropping that bottle. Alot of people don't seem to have that will anymore.

Without a doubt. McDonalds family growing up (now late 20's) and no matter what I always had this craving. For what I didnt know, but when I found alcohol i was finally content. After the years of abuse I met a guy at an NA meeting who said "Kid, after this meeting were gonna get ice cream" So as creepy as that was, I went. We sat there after having a bite, and talked for about 2 hours. He tunred to me on the way home and asked "Still craving that whiskey?" Thats when it hit me. I didnt even think about it after having sweats through the meeting earlier that night.
He proceeded to tell me he goes meeting to meeting (doesnt have a home group) and entices people with sweets. Guy only drank on the weekends too, wasnt even a hard hitter. Ronnie if youre out there, you saved me bud. Thanks a lot.

You know what I noticed? WHen I quit drinking the following day usually somebody buys me alcohol or the store has 50% off alcohol in the mark-down section. It's ALWAYS the case.

You know what I think. It's just like sex. You give something outside yourself power and you solidify the world outside yourself. So if you quit sex and drinking maybe you desolidify the world around you?

I destroyed my family. I repulsed everyone around me. I was an angry drunk, but it didnt start that way. I had a drink 2 weeks ago as a test, and half a beer later i noticed the change. The rage. My girlfriend wanted to uber back to Staten Island I got so bad. That other side i thought I destroyed is still there. Lurking. Im not saying this is the case for you, but half a beer destroyed months of progress for me. I had to reteach myself to be humble again, and Im still not where I was. That stuff kills your brain and creates another person out of you. If hasnt yet, it will.
You seem like a good person just from this minor back and forth, you dont need booze. You could construct such massive positive things with not just the money, but time youve spent giving yourself to that crap.
I loved Egyptology, and stopped researching because alcohol had convinced me my studies were fruitless and a waste of time. But there I was giving my time (7 fucking years) to a liquid. Im back on my studies again. And this time, my girlfriend and Ice Cream are more than happy to take the trip with me. Whether its in person or behind a screen, you have friends. Were everywhere! Become addicted to socializing and showing the world who you truly are!

My old girlfriend was such a lush that now the Dr. has her on a daily medical "dose" of vodka to prevent death by withdrawal.

My biological family was a bunch of dicks even before I drank and sent venomous emails. I had to do all the work with emailing and calling. After about 15 years of not hearing from my biological family of 11, I decided after getting drunk to send nasty emails. I don't regret it because alcohol is truth serum for me, but it's old behaviour and I don't wanna give something outside myself power over me.

I really have no interest showing the world who I am. I prefer anonymity now having seen the mask tards around me. I'll take my own private island with good European foods

EXACTLY! I dont masturbate either and almost left my partner because of her lack of making love. She became this different person.. she became an addict for sexual pleasure.
The look on her face when I stopped, looked at her and said "You arent you, im not sleeping with my (name here) wheres my (name here)?!" I looked at her repulsed. Thats when it hit her too. Her sexual relief was the same as my alcohol relief. Endorphins, serotonin, whatever tickles the receptors. We took a break for a while and when we had our first night together, she was there. She had also stated she hadnt felt a connection like that in a very long time. That made us so much closer.
What im getting at is alcohol will make the good time feel decent without it. Not even alcohol, but addiction. But once you conquer the demon and gain back self control, I promise you the good times WILL BE GREAT AND THE GREAT TIMES EVEN BETTER.
I can finally laugh with my father again, stop grieving the death of my mother, and thank the powers to be everyday that I wake up! All of this was impossible with that demon alcohol in my life. I finally understand why they call it "spirits".. and that spirit wasnt me/mine.

Except when it's IN my body, I get laughy. I know to stop drinking when I start getting the giggles. lol It's just praying to the porcelain god if I go any further. It's a fine line.
