NorCal here..near Sacramento. Everything is in full bloom with early Spring mild temps. But someone forgot to tell the bees. I’ve yet to see even ONE bee on all the blossoms. Never seen anything like it!

What are all of you seeing?

Europe here, no bees far and wide, NONE, NADA

but

a lot of bumblebees
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80511251

which imo. makes sense. the absence of bees is not because the bees are dead, the absence of bees is because the bees are held back by companies/people. companies/people cannot hold back bumblebees...

anyone ?

"An annual survey of beekeepers shows honey
bees continue to die at high rates. Between
April 2020 and this April, losses across the
country averaged 45.5 percent according to
preliminary data from the Bee Informed
Partnership, a collaboration of researchers
that has conducted the annual bee loss survey
for 15 years."

I’m in upstate NY.
Plenty of honey, carpenter, and bumbles.
Hornets and wasps are all out as well.
I’ve even seen some new bee species this year- but I only started paying attention a few years ago.

I know a bee keeper who usually sends bees to Cali for pollen season, but decided not to this year because shipping costs and other uncertainties.
I bet that many bee keepers who normally ship declined this year.

We have all the bees you could want here in rural Ohio. In fact, somebody please come and get the carpenter bees that are chewing up my deck. I dearly love them, so gentle and fuzzy, like the cows of the bee world... but destructive

Now we have the Italian bee pandemic!

"A season, that of 2021, which beekeepers
define as disastrous and which is added to
those of recent years certainly not favorable,
for many factors. A situation that is leading to
the renunciation of more than half of the hives,
honey and quality products and pollination for
agricultural and spontaneous plants".

Re: Where Are All The Bees??
It's great to know that you're doing your own thing
with the bees:-) Check this out where a mycelium
based mixed together with some natural substrate
is used to make a bee hive for the native bees.
There's also a video at link below which explains
some more.......

The homegrown hive that could save Ireland’s bees
More than 30 per cent of Irish bee species are
threatened with extinction, according to the
National Biodiversity Centre. More than half
of the country's bees have undergone a substantial
decline since 1980.

Forgive my ignorance but what are carpenter bees? Do you mean mud dobbers?
 Quoting: Aware & Watching

No, Carpenter Bees burrow into wood to create nests.

Cutter Bee's . They remove leaf material from plants to build their nest's . In alfalfa and many other plants being raised for seed the little critters are worth their weight in gold .

I use to raise them . Made bee boards for them to nest in .

Yeah when I was a kid there were thousands of them now I very rarely see them. There's ecological disaster happening and it's not climate change doing it.

 Quoting: therealmeanmodine

There are 8 billion humans, not 80B lol.

Also, the world was given to humans by God to use as we choose. That means we have the right to eat animals. Humans have a type of divine sentience no animal has, because humans have an eternal spirit. Well, some do, most seem spiritually empty. Maybe some people really are just animals, but I doubt it.

Animals have no eternal spirit, they just go back into the earth. They don’t go to Heaven.

Thus the life of a GOOD human is infinitely more valuable than the life of a random animal, for we can be eternal. And we have free will and love, and potential knowledge of the divine. Only Satanists think animals are equal or superior to humans.

I have TONS of carpenter bees every year...every year someone posts this.

Maybe, your brainwashed or the land you own in California just isn't worth what you paid for it.
 Quoting: NikM755

Glad you have bees. I put this post on my local neighborhood forum. Seems some people aren’t seeing any bees either while others are seeing lots of them. No idea why this is happening. Same neighborhood..different reports.
 Quoting: Aware & Watching

Southwest Tier NY here. Hardly any honey bees. Scant number of bumble bees.

I mow ten acres across the street. I'm out every day. Usually I have to slow up on the riding tractor every few feet to avoid running the bees over.

That's been the norm for eight years. This season I didn't see even one bee until around June 4 or 5.

My wife purchases a hive every other year. She thinks since we didn't do bees this year therefore there are fewer bees around. But I don't think that makes sense. There's tons of clover and many other flowers in bloom since mid May, and in past years there were large numbers of honey and bumble bees.

Honey Bees Into Trojan Horses, Rapidly Spreading the Infection to Healthy Hives

To capture the behavior of individual bees, researchers
tagged each one with the equivalent of a QR code and
continuously monitored their interactions. The scientists
were able to simultaneously track the behaviors of as
many as 900 bees.

The system allowed them to track how infection
with IAPV affected the bees’ trophallaxis social
network.

[link to scitechdaily.com (secure)]

Israeli acute paralysis virus (IAPV) affects honeybee
hives worldwide and acts by hijacking the host ribosome
for viral protein production through a non-coding RNA
sequences termed IRESs. Cryo-EM studies now reveal
how the IRES captures host ribosomes by mimicking
tRNAs in hybrid configurations to bypass the initiation
step, jumpstarting translation directly to the elongation
phase.
