Thank you for the stars  I have TONS of carpenter bees every year...every year someone posts this. Maybe, your brainwashed or the land you own in California just isn't worth what you paid for it. Glad you have bees. I put this post on my local neighborhood forum. Seems some people aren’t seeing any bees either while others are seeing lots of them. No idea why this is happening. Same neighborhood..different reports. Southwest Tier NY here. Hardly any honey bees. Scant number of bumble bees. I mow ten acres across the street. I'm out every day. Usually I have to slow up on the riding tractor every few feet to avoid running the bees over. That's been the norm for eight years. This season I didn't see even one bee until around June 4 or 5. My wife purchases a hive every other year. She thinks since we didn't do bees this year therefore there are fewer bees around. But I don't think that makes sense. There's tons of clover and many other flowers in bloom since mid May, and in past years there were large numbers of honey and bumble bees.
