Propaganda in Baby Media?
Every baby book and site seems handed the same information, with the goal of severing the connection the parent has to the child.

"Walk your 2 year old back to bed if they wake up. Let them know you won't console them, they need to learn to themselves. Never back down."

That just severes the trust from child to parent. I can't understand how this stuff gets passed as good and not child abuse, at minimum.

Are the owners of the media trying to brainwash us to divide our connections with our kids, so they'll more easily be indoctrinated?

I also commonly see "Don't let them sleep in bed with you." Since when is closeness bad?

"Moms need to leave their babies for a few hours to do stuff she likes." As if taking care of her baby is presumed unlikeable. And moms never left babies for hours in history - they breastfed. It's nature to be together always.

Re: Propaganda in Baby Media?
I agree. We should keep our babies with us. I didn't sleep with my first child, because of how I was taught. I kept him in a crib in the room next to us & used a baby monitor. I had my first baby in 1990.

Then with my second baby, I kept him in a crib in the same room. Because my husband didn't want him in bed with us. This was 2004.

With my third baby, I decided to ignore what others wanted and just follow my natural instinct, which was to keep my baby in the bed with me. That worked out much better.

Consider this:

If your husband hadn't had his way in 2004, you would never have been able to have any more sex, since your second child would have been sleeping in your bed. And then your third child wouldn't even exist.

So much for a woman's natural instinct. The only reason you have your third child, is because your husband kept you from following it.

Co slept with my littles until at least 3. Then when they are potty trained they sleep in their own bed, however if they wake up in the night and want to they can climb in with us.
I'm a stay at home mom and the bedrooms and living room are on different floors of the house. Living room and couches work too.

You must be pretty unusual then, having sex in the kitchen and all. Very few women will do this, especially when they're moms with a lot of responsibilities and stuff on their minds.

What normally happens when a young couple have a child, is that there's a fight about where the baby shall sleep.

Mom says baby shall sleep between mom and dad.

Dad says baby shall sleep in the crib.

If mom wins, what usually happens next, is that THERE IS NO MORE SEX, FOR YEARS AND YEARS.

Baby gets no sibling. And mom and dad drifts apart from lack of intimacy. Eventually they get divorced. Baby now has no father figure in its life, and has an increased risk of doing drugs or getting involved in criminality when baby grows up. All because mom had to have her way.

It's a good thing you're up to having sex in the kitchen so this didn't happen to you. Most guys aren't so lucky to get a wife like that.

Re: Propaganda in Baby Media?
I'll make it short,

its not the fact that people dont want to lose there connection to there child when it comes to "do not let them sleep in bed with you"

think of it like this, if one night your infant does sleep with you, and you do sleep or if there is two of you. then your chances of that baby being smother increases. as the more people sleep in that same bed.

so why take the risk at all. yea they have that same risk when not sleeping with you depending how you set up there bedding when they do sleep.

that risk is greatly decreased though, then it is if the child slept with you.

you have to think about rolling over, your infant rolling over, if your knocked out unaware that night, or heavily sleeping, there are many factors to look at. Plus if you have your partner with you. that plays a roll too.

there have been many cases of that happening. not everyone is out to brainwash you.

there are actually good people who do care.

if your worry about spending more time with your own child and losing that connection. what is it that parents who complain about that. but yet would slave and take there time away from there children by going to work, or even sending them to a baby sitter, or going out party, and all that.

but you complain cause they dont want you TO "RISK" suffocating your child

how much time do you spend away from your child between your job and that connection. not knowing that the next minute could be your last. but yet i bet you work 8 plus hours a day away from your child fourty plus hours a week. working for someone else higher, that enjoys there life. while taking yours away.
