I made an offer on 3 RVs but got no replies so obviously there's some bidding wars on these things now. Just don't reply and raise the price lol

I chose the "No" option, OP. Mostly for one reason that is. That one reason being simply you should honor your original price until you refresh your car ad to get it back on front page again. This being after some days or so, of course. Just be aloof or otherwise disinterested in the meantime if it means so much more to you for that extra seven hundred and fifty dollars.

Once you can refresh your car ad just increase the price tag. It should be easy. If anyone asks about the price increase just stick with the "Kelly Bluebook had the correct price. I posted my ad before I consulted Kelly Bluebook. Oops!". If they want to bitch, piss, and moan about it ditch them and press onwards.

I DID reply and raised the price on them.
Can they sue me to get the original price?

That "hail no" meme looks to be exactly the same neighborhood where I was living in Oklahoma City back in late 2018 to early 2019. That is mighty intriguing...

I used to live in NW Arkansas. Drove through OKC a few times. I guess I would not live there. Heh

When I lived in OK City the weather was often pretty crazy. When we had wind storms, wow! Good God, I sometimes thought the roof was about to rip off the house. Other times the storms were so intense I thought the hail and white out conditions were going to puncture the roof in many places. It did snow a few times that Winter but never all that much. Heck, here in North Texas for that relatively minor winter storm in mid February 2021 we had much, much more snow than those snow storms OK City had back in the Winter of 2018-2019 combined! Whoo!

Almost as often as I hear COVID-19 ads on the radio, Soundman, I have been hearing ads saying that there is such a dire new vehicle situation and even worse situation for the used vehicle side of things. This being that there are practically no new vehicles in all of North Texas at least. The thing is I have been wondering if those ads are actually telling the truth. Locally I have been noticing more and more of the new and used dealerships' offerings have been seriously drying up since about Summer 2020 in my North Texas town. When I drove my step father to Lansing, MI mid July 2020 it was a similar situation there too.

Raising the price now is kind of chicken shit actually.

I suggest sitting in front of a mirror and slapping yourself in the face 750 times while saying things like “Dummy”. “Idiot” and “Stupid”

You should honor the original price, but at the same time, you have the right to change your mind about selling it at all if you wish. So I see no reason you can't raise the price even after someone has shown interest.

If you were doing it as a business all the time, I think you are obligated to go with the advertised price. As a private seller, you in no way are obligated to sell the vehicle to the first person or people that respond on the initial price being asked.

I would just tell the interested parties you have revised the listing based upon your research of fair market values, hence the price change.

Let them know that if they still want to buy it for the higher price, you will give them first right of refusal, otherwise it will be open for anyone else willing to pay the new price.

Having said all of that, I have undersold an item that was worth more and knew at the time I was doing it. Truth be told, I wanted it gone and the money I did get was better than having something around that I had no use for.

Yep, I went ahead and emailed the ones that said YES to the first price and offered it at the higher price. The first one to reply initially will get first dibs at it. This should be interesting. Hope they don't give me shit about raising the price - that would be funny. I'll have funny one liners ready.

Raise the price. You made a mistake. No one was entitled to buy the car at the old price. But in the future do a better job of pricing before you list.

Yeah, I figured that legally it would be okay to raise it. In fact, it's no doubt happening all the time for higher demand items. Supply / demand. Market values change every day.

If you have not made a deal or contract. Raise it, we are not commies, we are capitalist. It is more valuable. Especially with new cars making is coming to a stop.

They will offer and pay what is negotiated. go a little higher and hopefully someone bites. just depends how quick you need the money. waiting will most likely bring you more if you have a price point.
