I sit in the night observing my planting. My precious, precious medicines and poisons. I am pleased. It is very therapeutic. All my neighbors are scared of it. Crows and owls don't even go near it. It kills every bug with ten yards.

It's mine. Mine alone. My precious. Garden.

I just can't wait to see how much quality medicinal tincture I can get out of this little plot at summer's end. Very happy with this year's planting. I have stuff in here that could kill a small horse with 5 drops. :-)

I have one huge black widow spider that felt comfortable in my garden to spin a web and make her home. So, I'll let her stay.

But nobody else can come in. Just me and my pet black widow.

I will call her Charlotte.

I am going to try and do spinach and basil before it gets too hot. Otherwise, at least the basil will come indoors.

Gardens can get...strange sometimes.

Life is a magic garden. With wondrous softly shining flowers, but between the flowers there are the little gnomes, they frighten me so much, they stand on their heads, and the worst is, they call out to me that I should also stand on my head, every once in a while I try, and I die of embarrassment; but sometimes the gnomes shout that I am doing very well, and that I'm indeed a real gnome myself after all. But on no account I will ever fall for that.

No, as an American you can grow up to 1/4 an acre, you just can't sell it. I did some research for some folks awhile back.

I have been gardening now for 12 years. I am on a city lot with daughter living next door and I use her yard as well.

It is my relaxation and joy. I have had some years I neglect it more than others. I am in an area that growing is a lot easier than other places. I have fruit year round. I have things in both the front and the back, pots and in the ground. I have a green house that has housed a bell pepper, a jalapeño and a Serrano for 4 years. I can’t believe I have kept them alive all this time.

I have the following right now:

Avocado tree - new hope to establish
White nectarine
Grapefruit
2 different orange trees
Lemon
Tangerine
Pear
Peach
Apricot - new in a pot ultra dwarf
Apple
Australian Lime
Bay Leaf
Olive
6 grape varietals
Almond

Marjoram
Basil
Oregano
Lemon Balm
Lemon Grass
Lavender - two varieties

I have had rabbits, quail and chickens. Only have two chickens now. I compost their poop and then fertilize my trees with it. Get two eggs a day.

You learn a lot over time. I find it very enjoyable, a good day is being able to be out there all day. I love knowing I can grow food, dehydrate it, can it.

Hi Only Me! Good to see you are still here.

I garden voraciously. Planting peas and green onions soon. Starting squash, both winter and summer varieties, indoors this week also to be ready for planting the end of May.

Will purchase tomato, pepper, eggplant, plants. Working on raised beds for our root veggie this year. Lots going on.

Since I've started this little backyard caper, every trip to Lowe's has become an adventure. I have great difficulty leaving without a couple of new plants. What have I gotten myself into? I went from 0 to crazy plant lady in just a couple of months.

You'll find that kind of "Ahhhhh" and even blissful happiness when you're "in the moment". Doesn't matter what you're doing, but I find it easier to achieve outside the house looking at the sky, listening to the birds, etc.

In the moment or in the 'now', the past doesn't exist, the future doesn't exist, you're connected to 'the universe' and open to all that you can imagine.
