I'm on year five of both first vegetable garden and first chicken coop. Until my 30s I had always lived in cities. Don't think I will go back, I like the country life.
There's a learning curve but it's SO rewarding. A way to commune with nature and get in touch with the environment with the zen of gardening

Also, creating a backyard get-away (using small bushes, flowers, well placed small trees) has similar stress relieving characteristics. Improves your property. Very peaceful.
