Just read a trusted commentator on this say Brodd is a train wreck for the defense. I don’t see it that way myself. But if he’s right that isn’t good.

If that was true, the state would have had him as their witness.

They mean a train wreck for the prosecution. Don’t you know nowadays what’s up is down and what’s down is up?

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - Day 12 - LiveStream
My judgement so far is the jury has to be bored with the prosecution. They are asking meaningless questions. The witness answers the questions quickly, succinctly, and honestly. The prosecution is trying to hard to trip up the witness and discredit him. But the prosecution just seems like a wanker.
 Quoting: Corporal Punishment

Funny on HLN they say this was a win for the prosecution. I guess it's all in what you hear.

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - Day 12 - LiveStream
This laughable case by the prosecution pisses me off. It was completely justified to taser this lowlife druggie scum and throw him at the back of the patrol car.

Especially after minutes of forcefully resisting and requiring manhandling by THREE COPS, but they chose a more softer method. And for that Chauvin gets prosecuted!?

If he had been tasered and died, it would have been ruled by a competent police department investigation a justifiable use of force. But not by these shitbird wokers in that shithole city.

Fucking wokers, they need to be dealt with sooner or later, before they collapse the western societies completely.

One of the talking heads on the stream I am watching just mentioned that one of the Jurors lives in Brooklyn Center. So Nelson needs to bring this to Cahills attention and have her questioned about listening to the media.

That town has been under Curfew since Sunday, there's no way she doesnt know about it.

Nelson needs to get that into court record, possible Mistrial or if Chavin is found guilty it could be reason for appeal.

In all his hours this expert never heard Floyd say he had a sore neck (or more correctly, he claims to have heard it but not noted it or something) and this prosecutor is incredulous. Why the hell didn't the defense lawyer put to all or most of the prosecutors witnesses that Floyd's complaints of an inability to breathe preceded being on the ground in a similar manner? How they selectively ignored that?

To be fair to the defense, Nelson is the only one. I don't know how these trials work, but I see the prosecution has had 3 people interrogate people while it has so far always been 1 person for the defense.

(I don't know why I typed back instead of neck. Fixed. You should see how many times I write next instead of neck. I type too fast for my brain...)

Defense use of force expert didn’t do well under cross. He should have given more details about some topics instead of his yes and noes. For once the prosecution did a good job and defense looks bad.

?

I think the prosecution just went in circles and presented rhetoric which he forced the witness to agree to. Not much new here. More reaching and posturing by the prosecution.

Snippets certainly don't show the entire story/events.

What's interesting is at the end when Chauvin stands up, Floyd is completely life-less looking.

The question or implication of Floyd's condition/state at that point then is did Chauvin execute his prone control so expertly that Floyd was peacefully restrained to the point of being in a yogi-like blissful meditative state OR was the execution of his prone control just that - execution.

This mask thing is stupid AF.

Enough already.

And just telling the jury to not watch the news is laughable.

YOU KNOW they are all watching the news and social media. I would be.

This is what happens when you:

1-break the law by passing counterfeit bills, then
2-ingest a lethal amount of narcotics before being taken into police custody.
3-actively and aggressively resist arrest.
4-neglect to tell police you just ingested a lethal amount of narcotics.

Yes, it's most likely death will occur.

Hmmm?

I guess I’m watching a totally different trial?

I thought the defense did another good job of casting “reasonable doubt”.

This Defense attorney is really good in my opinion.

He is skillfully asking the pertinent questions that puts the Prosecution to shame. For every attack, Nelson has a reasonable and logical answer.

If I were on the jury there is no way in heck that I could find Chauvin guilty.

In the end the cops will just taser more, leading to more deaths. No fancy prone or any other positions because apparently you have to be a ninja doctor or Jedi master to apply the forces just right at all times and probably give the thug a new fancy arresting shoulder massage too!

Good questions. My thoughts were maybe Nelson figured the prosecution witnesses were so biased and full of it that it wasn’t worth pushing them. They’d just make up something to keep their story.

You can contrast that with his expert. He was short and to the point. He didn’t seem pompous. But he might have gone too far the other way.

I had thought maybe Nelson had such great experts that he would just refute the prosecution witnesses with his own. I’m not sure that is the case now.

I hope Nelson has some better witnesses. By that I mean more helpful to his case. I think his use of force expert was a good witness in terms of being honest and not embellishing answers.

Or better yet, just let blacks police themselves.

Who are we kidding anyway?

The female officer and the chief of police both resigned today in the Daunte case.

It’s only a matter of time. There will be many vacancies soon. I predict that early retirement will be offered and taken.

By the end of the decade, things should get very interesting.

In a decade all our police will be like the second lieutenant in Virginia who couldn’t obey basic orders during a traffic stop. That won’t be better for anyone. If you avoid the police now you really better avoid them in ten years.
