good question, I haven't actually looked into the measurements of the building itself, just the math and astrometry involved in it's placement and orientation ( Since it relies on the person who chose the site originally to have been well-educated in the subjects )

I can say though, that it was decided using the exact same mathematics used by the builders of Egyptian Temples like Karnak

cubic, square and triangular numbers were used heavily in the antiquities prior to the Bible, so that's probably involved

The standard of measurement issued by Naram-Sin ( The double cubit AKA " meter " ) was itself based on a theoretical cube of water and it's properties ( Density, etc )

Could be that cube roots are involved as well, since the cube of the intercalary term " 25,920 " is approximate to the synodic month average
