If you look on the map it is very close to the West entrance and not really super far into the park. Not crazy odd but honestly not an area of the park that the bears typically hang out. . |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12880315 Black bears you have to fight for all you are worth. They will kill you. Grizzlies you can try playing dead. Black bears attack less people per year, but kill more than Grizzlies do, despite being half the size. Grizzly. This guy was not far off the beaten path. The story goes that he was fishing and the bear grabbed him from behind and the bear's jaw grabbed his head and took off his scalp, broke his neck and got into his eye. They used snowmobiles to get him out. . |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80170757 United States 04/26/2021 05:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember in the 70s that there where no grizzle bears in Yellowstone. The stupid feds decided to 're-establish' grizzles in the park and proceeded to transport bears from Glacier park into Yellowstone. Why do you think there were no bears in the park? Because no one wanted to have the creatures come into their camp site and kill their family members. It was a GOOD thing that the fuc-n bears were eliminated. Now the young people think it is normal when the park service declares a "hard camping" rule. How stupid! In the 70s there was no such thing! Every stupid environmentalist in the 70s and 80s always said that "Grizzlies never attack people unless they are provoked" This was a complete lie! every one of these animals should be shot in the head - fuc the feds. |

Walked along the Madison River alone from time to time to find a spot and play guitar. Definitely always had my harmonica out to make noise as I walked. Loved that area but it is freaky. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12248801 To make noise? Is that how you stop the Grizzley from attacking you? Bend out some wicked blue notes? |
